That would be a good idea, as 3LW? We would have to move Sheary then. - mhp
Everyone hates my Sheary at RW1 idea
But he’s not gonna be here long term,
so why not try & boost his value
Plus, it lets us slide Sam down to help out Mitts |

Sabres open the season in Pittsburgh Oct. 3; home opened on the 5th against New Jersey - Stripes77
The only way that game will in any way be exciting is if these Taylor Hall rumors are true, and let's just say I'm doubtful that they are. |

Wha... whe... who..... where'd you come to that conclusion from??
Bots was getting hammered with questions about "are you going to trade Risto? What are you looking to use to trade? We've heard other teams interest in Risto? yadda yadda. |

I don't know about that. There are no rumors as far as I can tell about Risto and Botts would have to be blown out of the water to trade Risto. Let the GM's call him with a trade that's worth doing it. I think he stays. |

I know putting people with Jack to boost their value is one your favorite ideas, but we should be trying to build a team to win games. Jack's RW needs to be at least average defensively. Experience at RW is a plus too.
They need to add at least one RW. |

How about Donato, Zucker for 31, Nylander and 2021 2nd.
Roslovic for a 2020 2nd.
Scandella to Montreal for 2020 4th (WIN)
Ryan Murray for Jake McCabe
Sign Connolly, Benn
Skinner-Eichel-Olofsson
Zucker-Reinhart-Connolly
Sheary-Mitts-Roslovic
Erod-Asplund-Donato
Okposo
Dahlin-Montour
Murray-Risto
Benn-Bogo
Pilut
Maybe? - mhp
Rough cap numbers look like we'll have between 4-5 in space. |

Yeah... going forward I’d agree
But I’m not expecting much from us this year
Best case is probably a 1st round playoff loss to Tampa or Boston
So why not maximize a tradable asset? |

Joonas Donskoi is just such a good fit as a two way player who has a decent finishing touch to play with Eichel or Mitts.

And he'll get paid accordingly because of it...probably by someone else.

You honestly think JB should order Ralph to do something that makes the team on the ice worse? They are both under pressure to win.
If you said they should do it a month before the deadline, and weren't contending, it would make some sense. Building your opening night lineup around it is just crazy.

I want him too, but he's going to get a lot of calls. He might cost double the projection.

As much as i've been told about the players they are interested in, IMO Botterill should wait and see what comes along that works for this team moving forward. Don't want to see another " Okposo" deal. Skinner was one thing, bad players are another. |

One of my best friends is a Sharks fan and watches every game of theirs... he says he is realllllly overrated and really is a product of the talent on the ice around him.
Take it for what you want. |

Read this on twatter today:
Andre Burakovsky, who can become a restricted free agent July 1, may not receive a qualifying offer from the Capitals, general manager Brian MacLellan said Thursday.
I'll take him. |

I still think my favorite UFA 2C is Marcus Johansson from Boston via Washington.
Dude is a very solid 45-55 point contributor, can play each wing in addition to center and is no worse in any of the 3 positions. He has no glaring weakness in his defensive game. He also contributed 4 goals and 11 points in 22 games for Boston in the playoffs and has had 20 and 27 goal years.
He is only 28... I think you could easily get him for a 3/4x5.75M range. Let him play that 2C for awhile maybe have Mitts on his wing and switch over after faceoffs but just learn from the guy some. Then at 5.75M he can easily be a 2LW/RW for us for the duration of his contract when Mitts is ready to be a 2C.
I just see it as a win win. |

Why does that make the team worse?
I’m expecting Sheary to produce well on Jack’s wing
He did briefly last year, and has before when played in Pitt’s top6 |

Agreed not a bad target, can slide to 3rd line without killing cap if Mitts takes off. Can also switch to wing as you mentioned. Good call. |

He is the guy I have pegged to sign the worst UFA contract of the year.
I wouldn’t be shocked to see if he gets 6Mm for a long term deal. |
