Offensive Game

Cozens is a pure goal scorer. He has an excellent wrist shot and a quick release as well as the soft hands to finish in close. Cozens also has a good snapshot and slap shot. He is not afraid to get to the dirty areas of the ice, establishing position at the top of the slot, where he can fire in one-timers or provide the “high-screen” that many teams are using to great effect in recent years. With the puck on his stick, he is not afraid to take it to the front of the net.

Dylan Cozens also sees the ice very well. He controls the puck in the cycle game before dishing to an open teammate. His hockey IQ is excellent, as he anticipates where his teammates are headed and is able to set them up for good scoring chances. He can control the puck and has the patience to slow down the play and the instinct to speed it up in order to create openings depending on the situation. His vision and skill allow him to quarterback the power play on the half boards. Without the puck, Cozens finds soft spots in the defence and gets himself open to make a play. He is also effective at battling for loose pucks in the corners and along the boards.

Sounds JUST like Girgensons

Kind of reminds of a lesser skilled Eichel or a better skating Getzlaf.

Do you share all your opinions with such unwavering uncertainty, or just this one?

My apologies, can’t say I study the teams in the USHL to in depth. I did not know that Sioux had two teams. I guess that’s the equivalent of getting Michigan and Michigan State confused with one another ?
- Pegullaville

More like buffalo and Lockport. Sioux city is in Iowa, Sioux falls South Dakota. Also Sioux Falls doesn't suck and I'd like 50 times bigger

What would it take to get Tyson Barrie ???
- bobmack13

We just traded for the lighter version in montour. Not sure we need another offensive d-man. We need a nasty stay at home guy for Dahlin to pair with. Not sure who that guy is.

As a person who lives in Des Moines I laughed at this too. I played against USD and SDSU up there.

Am I the only one who thinks it's absolutely ridiculous that the NHL can't get it's cap number ready for the draft? What a stupid league!
- Cup Crazy '07

Nope. Very typical.

I believe Caufield will be a star in the league and make everyone look dumb for passing on him .

And yes cozens could be “ Kessler “ but he needs to work extremely hard the first thing I would do is call Gary Roberts he be perfect for him

- gerbe75pts

It's Kesler.

And why do you keep bringing up that he needs to "work extremely hard"? Are you afraid he won't? Everything I've heard come out of his mouth ("if I don't make the NHL next year, I'll go back to Lethbridge and lead that team") has been perfect.

I spend endless hours on this site. I have more opinionated posts then almost every other poster. I’m bound to be wrong on things it’s human nature. I missed you complimenting me on Boldy going before Caufield and Caufield slipping out of the top 10 all together. How about us needing to address the Center position at 7 which we did while everyone was pumping the Caufield train ?

I pat myself on the back when I’m right and admit when I’m wrong. Everyone criticizes me either way though and I’ve accepted that.

What are you talking about. He was considered a first round pick. Not a top 10. But a top 20.

Because his body is RNH he needs to bulk up the right way and that takes a lot of work And dedication and focus it’s just going to be really hard

That wasn't the conversation

The conversation was which player drafter wasn't considered a 1st round pick

Grigorenko was ranked as high as 2 that year during the season before he got mono

Girgensons was in the 15-30 range most of the year

Both were considered 1st round picks

Neither one of them has lived up to the hype

Grigorenko did just put up 50 points in 52 games or something in the KHL this year.

Girgensons should have played college for a year or two before playing in the A

It might have completely changed his game.

Well why jump into a conversation that you weren’t involved in just to try to put someone down for being wrong. I think mental has a good hold on putting someone down no need to pile on guy.

Dude did you see any of the kids drafted? They are all kids bodies. Look at Hughes or Caufield.
