one of my favorite players in nhl right now is couturier.. he can do it all, and come playoff time you can count on him to play good games.
he isn't a giant either but does bring the combination of skill effort and physical play
edit: just checked.. he's 6'4 so kinda big

1 trade to involving a 1st and a 1st + 2nd to move up a bit - that's it...
quite a few ufas older than 30y might be left without a job start of season or will need to adapt their salary ask singnificantly

Oh you're right, it's just funny how there's this whole entertainment industry built around sports transactions scuttlebutt but trades are rare and big trades and offer sheets almost never actually happen. So deadline day, draft day and ufa day are always duds because they can never live up to the 'rumours'. It's soap opera for guys basically.
