I would rather take a shot at Simmonds. - thundachunk

I will agree with the wap. I do believe that Miller will have a career year. Anyone would playing with Petey an Brock. His style of play will compliment them. I will give Benning that but I don't like the 1st. - thundachunk
none of us like it that's a given but that pick wont be relevant for 5 years at least and maybe not at all. Maybe we get a 1st back in the next 2 years. |

JT fills the nerd for a top 6 LW. Playing with EP or Bo is a good upgrade. TG has real line options at his disposal for once.
JT EP Boeser
Pearson Bo Goldy
Sven Gaudette JV
Possible lines & can be juggled up.
Goldy is in there on his last chance if not dealt. Add Panarin
Panarin EP Boeser
Pearson Bo JT
Sven/Goldy Gaudette JV
Gaudette one year older will be better but how much is up in the air. He has any kind of breakout season & we are much better.
I’m assuming Sutter is dealt or a 4th liner depth F. |

Regardless he is in the hot seat. If Benning goes it is a given he is gone too. @Makita - thundachunk

Congrats on getting two quality picks in Keppen and The Highlander Bummed we didn't get Keppen; impressive EV strength production (both goals and primary assists) and a balanced package across the rest of the facets. - MaximumBone
I need to research on him more & thx |

Moving a conditional first is not going 'all in' lol.
If we miss the playoffs in 2021, this rebuilt has gone horribly wrong anyways. - Whiskey-Tango
It only started a year ago. Rebuilds take time, and draft picks. Even Gillis didn’t trade 1sts while he was loading up for a cup run. |

But to be fair Bennings fourth round picks were better than Gillis's firsts

Don't forget press box. He's so versatile that he's even useful as a healthy scratch.
I love giving out 1st round picks to help teams get out from cap hell and sign younger, better players. - Marwood

That's the issue. This team doesn't have the depth to be making "hockey trades"
Thus Jimbo spends picks. Ok..... somewhat understandable. If it were 2 2nds even... then ok. 2020 and 2021. Not a 1st.
Tampa was over the barrel here, not Vancouver. Look at me, still laying the boots to that poor horse. |

JB enters the WSOP...
Mike Sexton: JB you went all in with a double ended straight draw for your tournament life.
JB: well you know Mike we have some good cards.
MS: yes Jim but you are on the bubble
JB: well you know we want to make it to final table...
MS: yes but it’s day one |

JB is fully committed on a 1 way path, where it leads him we will find out. - Nighthawk
Yep Benning is the man. Some of us might be piS2ed but dam the guy is taking this team the way he wants it. Good for him I would too. In fact I am quite envious.

- VANTEL
Gillis started off with a better hand. Him trading picks or drafting went fairly unnoticed while we all enjoyed the ride. |

What if they are trading Miller for Barrie - VANTEL
Or planning to part with another middle 6 player and have now replaced him.
I watched the Green interview on the draft coverage. He enthusiastically mentioned what we need for playoffs 3 times. It sounds to me like they are confident they are getting an impact addition/s.
Like I said, if our D is still being led by Tanev and Edler this seasons. There will be no playoffs. I can't imagine they think Miller gets them over the top.

First, i take Miller over Hayes any day of the week, and second, his cap hit is a bargain. He’ll have a career year this season. I don’t like giving up a first but I like what we got. As for drafting no Defenceman, he must know from talking to agents if players are wanting to sign here. Tampering or not, we know it happens all the time. - Shuswap Wap
Benning is talking to agents multiple times a week about his own players who happen to be representing UFA's this summer. You can only assume there is, like always,,, discussions with information being passed on to the players. It's no mystery how players sign big complicated contracts moments after the shopping spree opens July 1st. Everything was already agreed on verbally.
