Well, it's only lottery protected for one year, so that's a bit misleading.
I will admit that I don't know the player at all, but like what i've read so far.
It would have been funny if we traded for PK Subban, whom everyone has an opinion on. - dbot
Miller’s a great pickup, he fits in awesome on the wing and he can play center. He’s relatively healthy, he’s only 26, he can pass the puck, he has size, it’s a great fit. |

If the pick ends up being in the late teens/early 20’s then I agree that it’s a reasonable cost but again, TB wasn’t dealing from a position of strength so the optics are bad - Nucker101
He’s a good player that fills a needed role on the Canucks. I’m happy about that. But outside of the player the trade itself seems to indicate that they are leaving the rebuilding phase and considering the holes left to fill I think it’s premature.
You also don’t want the fans of the team you trade with to almost unanimously say “huh. That’s more than I expected”. |

I disagree. A third and a lottery protected first for a 26 year old top 6 winger is A reduced price. 100%. Was it a slight overpayment given they also had a tough cap situation? Perhaps. I’m ok with it because I like the player - CanuckDon
I agree, it just means other than Boeser and maybe Leivo all our other forward RFAs are history. |

We aren’t missing the playoffs in 2021. I’d bet my Scottsdale home |

I get the anger for sure. If Miller puts up 60 and the team makes the playoffs then it will likely disappear. Should be fun to watch ! |

This is exactly the issue. This trade probably should have been made one year later. But, they were always going to push for the playoffs so no surprise |

He’s removed all incentive to bottom out, so for better or worse it’s full steam ahead now. |

Brilliant. I sold a condo in Yaletown at the peak and bought a mansion in AZ with the proceeds. Van is a joke |

The summer’s still young and who knows what will happen, but I have a hard time seeing this team making the playoffs next season. |

Easy to say, hard to know. They’ll need another stellar year from Markstrom and Edler, and Petey and Boeser to take another step. Plus whoever else they bring in will have to deliver. |

Yeah, a lot of If's.
If we stay healthy.
If Brock, EP, Bo, Edler, Markstrom perform at the same level as last year.
If we get contributions from the bottom 6.
If Quinn Hughes has a ROY season.
If the new players hit the ground running....
