Mitch Marner’s agent Darren Ferris is slated to leave the draft shortly en route to catch a flight home. Ferris and Leafs GM Kyle Dubas did not meet this week in Vancouver. Obviously lots of time both both sides to connect in Toronto this week.

You still have provided no proof for this opinion. He was indeed able to sign, but there's been nothing reliable said about him wanting to sign early.

It seems that you don't (Most leaf fans don't know how LTIR works on here).

You can exceed 10% over the cap through the summer, but you must be under or at cap by the 1st day of the season. This is why the Blackhawks had to dump the Hossa contract a few years ago.

So far Dubas cleanin up Lou’s oppps there an yeah hurts a bit but so be it. Needed to be done that simple.

Done in one of the worst possible ways but the writing was always on the wall.

I think the #1 reason it cost them a 1st round pick was because it's June 22nd.

That means Carolina has to pay his bonus.

And the Leafs couldn't wait until July 1st to pay the bonus because of the threat of offersheets and potentially being unable to match one.

At the moment Bracco would be the Nylander replacement. But more so Kapanen and Bracco would be a third liner.
