Corey Pronman gives the Hawks a B, which I find charitable, especially given the Hawks drafted at 3, which is hard to mess up and should garner an A. Pronman gave the Devils an A+ and the Rangers an A, drafting 1 and 2. However, the Hawks did mess up at 3. Pronman not high on Dach. I think Vlasic helps move it to a B. Should even be lower.

Most telling is that the Avs and Kings get...ready for it...As!!! At 4 and 5. For choosing players the Hawks could have chosen. When the Hawks foolishly took Dach the Avs and Kings jumped for joy as Byram and Turcotte fell to them. Into their laps. When the Wings took Sieder the Sabres literally lost their collective minds as Cozens fell to them. Management and players like Eichel did handstands.

So for the top 5 - A+, A, B, A, A. Which letter doesn’t belong. It’s OK to say it - the freakin’ B!

Byram, Turcotte and Cozens are going to be stars based on elite skating and elite skill. Dach does not have elite skating or elite skill. He is actually slow. Watch his “highlights” from the Blades. Muck goal after muck goal. Not to mention he is prone to laziness and disappeared completely mid-season. However, StanBo fell in “love” with him. Maybe it was the 26 goals - yes 26 goals.

Remember we got Toews at 3. Dach is as far from a Toews as it gets. While Byram, Turcotte and Cozens will soar, Dach will take his average skating and average skill and muck around on the third or fourth lines.

unproductive?? saad did not have good 17-18 season but he did come back last year...he is at best 25 goal-50 pt guy who when he wants to has a decent 200 ft game...those guys given the hayes contract are now commanding 7-8 mildo...

anisimov is the only productive net presence guy they got and needs to play 3rd line role...he is at best a 15-20 goal, 40 pt guy now and those command 4-5 mildo; slow sure...

with seabs i can agree to a point...he is a liability and you need to spot play him with lower minutes now...but with those contract terms he ain't going anywhere for at least another year or 2...

all teams have bad contracts and players that have dropped off in production or don't fit their roles anymore...tough to find takers for those guys..

Chemistry means everything and with all due respect just because a player whom won 2 Stanley cups all while just being let's say playing at that point to his game doesn't mean we should live in the past tense with these players.

Most importantly you nailed it when you said saad deciding to show up.

That's been Chicago's issue as well So be they last won the cup, the players going mia , then thinking they can just turn it on. Those days are long gone.

Saad doesn't compliment toews , at 6 million dollars Chicago would be better off either getting a more productive player , prospects, picks or just free available cap space.

Anisomov is useless, it doesn't matter if he is willing to sit in front of the net, or his salary is reasonable,

Their are a lot better options out their for Chicago to go after .

If we the fans see these warts, no doubt GM’s see them as well. If there are better options out there then why would anyone trade for Saad or AA? My fear is the return would be very limited (unless you feel addition by subtraction is the way we go)

No. We're merely waiting to hear who the new consensus #1 pick is in 2020 so we can start a new hashtag like #LoseForHughes and start tanking accordingly

So I google translated one of Artemi Panarin's stories on his Instagram of a boy holding a signed picture of him in a Blackhawk's sweater saying how much he appreciates the autograph he just received and how he strives to be like him one day. Why would Panarin send the boy an autographed photo of him in a Hawk's sweater and not a Columbus sweater??? This pretty much confirms he's singing with the Blackhawks amirite?

Better options? At what price? Kevin Hayes 7 X 7?

Hearing that William Karlsson’s extension, once signed this week, will be 8-year max term, which was really important to him. Loves it in Vegas.

To me the return no matter what Chicago gets either a upgrade in another key area like defense , or picks , prospects, or just more cap space .

Chic ago can turn around and look at players like Anders Lee he is a heck of lot better than saad even if it cost Chicago 7 million your talking the difference of 1 million.

Chicago can not trout out the same tired team and expect better results.

eakin, stastny ,Joe pavelski would be upgrades down the middle over anismov.

Now with the draft over, it's interesting to see what the Hawks would have been left with if they didn't have 'lottery luck'. At the 12th and later pick, they would have chosen from M.Boldy, S.Knight, C.York, C.Caufield, P.Krebs, ect. Would be interesting to see who the Hawks would have chosen from that crowd if they had the #12.

Another benefit of the 'lottery luck' is that up-and-coming Colorado, which had the #1 pick locked down, dropped to below the Hawks. Sure they got B.Bowen, but they could have had #1.

It seems to me that in 3 years, Colorado is on target to be the main Central division competition (hopefully fighting with Hawks for #1 position). Blues and Preds seem to consistently draft well and have competitive teams, so those could be the top 4 in Central by 2021.

Good for him, it’s nice to see a player fit in and find his place with a team.

No doubt Vegas will make cap space by dealing other players. I’d really like to see Stan scoop up Eakin for the third line.

Idk, wait until he hears about the Scrooge McDuck vault of money that Fla will give him. Panarin will always be one of my favorites (my username cough cough) but he comes with a high price tag & not really one of the pieces that the hawks need to be competitive again. Still appreciate your Google translate work, hahaha.

I'm just a realistic person who is being honest about Chicago's personnel.

Toews and Kane can not be paired up all season long because it limits Chicago's ability to generate offensive production.

Imo toews won't have the same type of year he had last year, when you look at his last 4 years he has had 1 great season and 3 mediocre.

I don t think Stastny at $6.5 and 35 is better than Anisimov at $4.5. When was the last time Stastny hit 50 points? What other parts of his game is $2;mil. better than Anisimov? I covet Eakin because he is signed for only 1 year.

I doubt that. Even though the nhl protects the guys that cheap shot from enforcers. Even though I hate reaves he's the toughest guy in the league.
