Wm Karlsson is getting a 8 year extension in Las Vegas - wiz1901
Someone mentioned that Patches could be on his way out. Can see Bowman looking for him and possibly Eakins. Patch would make a nice LW for 19 and 88. What does he have left on his contract? |

Signed for $7,000,000 per, will be a UFA in 2023. |

Getting Eakin for Horton's contract makes a lot of sense to me. That mean Anisimov can be traded regardless if they determine Dach will make the team as Dach could play wing for 2019/20 and then take over 3C when Eakin leaves after the 2019.20 season. The effect on the Hawks cap would be $4.5M (Clarkson's cap hit ($5.25M) added to the Eakin cap hit ($3.85M) and subtract Anisimov's cap hit ($4.55M)) - which means the Hawks still have cap space to add a McNabb type d-man. The key is finding a buyer for Anisimov without taking back much salary. |

Patch has sucked for the past 2 years and @ $7M for 4 more years would be a bad move. He's not the goal scoring machine he was a few years ago - check his stat line for the past 2 season.

Only mentioned it because Patch has been linked to Stan in the past. Wonder what Anders Lee will be looking for contract wise? |

I wouldn’t give 8yr deals to either - unless it was for a very team-favorable $.
Like others have been advocating, I would lean real hard on both players to ink a bridge deal. If they continue to develop and you pay more later in the next deal - no problem - they earned it. That’s what the organization did with Toews and Kane - and they both had strong individual performances and championships on their resume. - Chief4Feathers
I’d give Dcat a $6m x 8 in a heartbeat. |

No team dumping salary is signing AA. Hawks dont trade him unless they have a replacement via another deal. - Return of the Roar
No it’d have to be more of a hockey trade with a low salary cap team. |

Yeah it’s really a great site, was just looking around and was looking at Ottawa. They actually have 13 picks in next year’s draft. |

I doubt that. Even though the nhl protects the guys that cheap shot from enforcers. Even though I hate reaves he's the toughest guy in the league. - vandymeer23
Only if you equate toughest with dirtiest. |

Ottawa is way below the cap floor. Trade him for a draft pick. Columbus will need bodies assuming they don't re-sign Panarin, Duchene, Dzingel. AA could be reunited with Torts. |

They could afford a couple for AA assuming the Hawks pick up a replacement for him.

Which means they, and other cap strapped teams, are not going to get fleeced. Teams with the best offers will get what they want.
Stan is only in a position with these teams to eat turd contracts with one year left, and acquire other players with only one year left. These crunched teams can’t take salary back, so deals involving Saad or AA wont likely happen with Vegas or Toronto.
Far too many other teams out there with REAL cap space to offer better deals than Chicago can. - Return of the Roar

There is no way he'd sign that. If it's in the 6 million range it'll be fore 4 or 5 years. |

Or Z3’s analysis. You know it’s more than just a bit off when he claims Dach doesn’t have elite skill when pretty much every evaluation I’ve read use words like “elite”, “high end”, “rare” combo of size and skill. |

It will be more like $8 million x 8 years.
$6 million will be for Strome, I’d guess for 5-6 years. |

Pass on Patches, he’s not what the team needs. Eakin is a more viable option. |

Hey D, hope you're well sir. Like the first two picks - both big kids no smurfs there...
I'm also hoping Dach plays center and not on the wing.
Stanley's still gotta fix that defense...we'll see how he does in the free agency... |

Who did the Bruins have on the roster when Marc Savard's career was ended with a cheap shop, one of your favorites LOOOOOOOOOCH was on the ice at that moment and was uanble to "protect" Savard. The Bruins also had some other tough dudes in Chara, McQuaid and Shawn Thornton. No enforcer can protect any player from cheapshots only tough NHL rules can do that - paulr
Lucic has never been one of my favorites. And they got revenge on Cooke they didnt let it slide like a lot of players and teams in todays game would. |

The thing about this year is there’s a good number of teams that are in cap trouble. |
