Yes TJ he only had 1 goal. but he also had 11 points. And he routinely is on the ice when his team outshoots the other team, 5 on 5. So he's generating scoring chances at even strength which is tough to do in the NHL.

: I do believe Tyler Myers will be a 7 year contract. it could be $8 million per season. $6 million might be a bit low. GM's are looking at the cap being lower and demand for young players - could be less money spent in FA but there's a lot of demand for defensemen.

However, I don't see Myers receiving $8M unless on a shorter term of just 5 years. Myers at an AAV of $7M to $7.25M is greater likely over 7 years. Furthermore, should the Jets re-sign him, Bfuglien is at $7.6M there for two more years.

In comparison, among all top paid d'men are John Carlson and Brent Burns each at that $8M AAV, and being directly below the 4th highest paid in Ekman-Larsson at $8.25M. The top three paid d'men overall are Karlsson at $11.5M, Doughty at $11M, and Subban at $9M.
