Anyone...
Some people are saying that Botts already outright said that Cozens needs to go back to Juniors... I had thought that I saw him say he would get the same chance in camp as anyone else and maybe the 9 game tryout? - JVince11
I would guess he will be at camp as long as he earns it. If he makes it to the 9 game tryout, that is probably a good sign for the team.
I also don't know anything so take this with a grain of salt. |

I'm going to be curious where he will play. When he was drafted his was named as a Center.... then in all of the post-draft recaps and on the Sabres Twitter announcement thing he was listed as C/RW. In his pre-draft analysis, he was listed as fully capable of playing all forward spots with no dramatic drop at any.
I honestly think he has a better chance at making the team as a RW than as a C out of camp. Behind Samson, it's KO/Nylander/Smith as depth there. A "pure goal scorer" as he was touted is needed over there. |

I like Connolly and Benn. But if Connolly is pushing 5 per on a contract I'll pass. Sheahan would be fine for the 4th line, wouldn't also mind Colin Wilson. Patrik Nemeth could be an interesting look at LD. And Brandon Tanev would be a nice add. - mhp
It's silly season.
Someone is going to over pay for all of them.
We can take on some of those deals, and Connolly is only 27, but it's a weird risk/reward situation. Where does he fit? He's been primarily a 3C on some deep forward groups.
Can he step into a 2C role in a short time? If so, he's likely going to command over $5M per to do so. |

I wouldn't be shocked if he gets a chance with Jack, Casey, or whoever the next 2C is during camp to see what he can do.
I also wouldn't be surprised if they try him at center. He's probably not big enough yet to play center with the big club. |

He's taller than Mittlestadt but somehow... Cozens actually is outweighed by Casey by 20 lbs. 202 vs 180. |

Connolly played 2RW predominantly in WSH I thought. |

Casey needs to hit the gym. I know we joked about the pull-up thing but he doesn’t seem to be in the best of shape conditioning wise. |

Guhle is a puck moving / zone exit machine. Which is great. All the recent Sabres d they drafted are good at that too.
The issue with guhle is that he doesn’t have the offensive upside. Yes in Rochester he averaged .5 points per game in the ahl.
1) .5 in the ahl is nothing crazy
2). He didn’t get pp time
But if you watched montour or guhle .... who do you want to run a PP on top of the funnel? Montour. His shot passing and skill set is better in the o zone.
Guhle will never be good or great in the offense zone. - Sabretooth9
Who cares?
Dahlin & Jack will be the “points” for our top unit
I’m not picking someone based on how good they’d be on the 2ND PP |
