I was on a team with a dink in the room thinking he was better than everyone else and I had enough and punched his lights out in the room and he quit and I was a hero to my teammates and we went on to win the league, just an example. - Bettmanhatesus
If he was a dink & quit good stuff👍
When i played ball i thought i was better than everyone else. It was internal & i strived to be what i THOUGHT i was. Hockey was no different other than i was much younger & was always a team player.
All of my sports life i practiced like i played. I milked every ounce of success i could out of every opportunity i had.
I think Rome laying a cheap hit on Horton woke up the bruins ...if he doesn’t lay that hit the canucks win in 5
Dumb hit to make

I think the Boychuck hit on Raymond was just as bad if not worse. Raymond was in a vulnerable position, puck was gone and he broke Raymond's back. Could've ended the dude's career or even worse.
I think the 2011 series changed once Horton admired his pass like a Lindros & Rome given the stiffest PO suspension ever.
Even nowadays nobody has gotten close to it in a so-called improved time of safety. - Nighthawk
even bruin fans I know were shocked he got the rest of the series suspension, there explanation was they didn't want rome to be a target and turn the series ugly but it turned into a wwf show anyways

Didn’t lay off one ounce either. Needless to carry through on Raymond.

Sure it’s kind of dirty but I wouldn’t put that one close to the Rome hit ...guy going full speed and doesn’t have the puck or two guys barely moving and guy doesn’t have the puck ...
That play happens hundreds of times in the playoffs ...if Bambi wasn’t so brittle you would never mention it
It was a good post and I agree. This trade should have happened next summer and people would be more accepting. But we all knew they were charging for the playoffs this year so fans can get onboard or take a season off - CanuckDon
The trade is fine now. But no team should get a 1st for a player like JTM with the cap problems they have.
2 2nds is fine. Whatever keeps the Canucks available for a lottery. Despite JTMs playoff stats, I like what he'll bring to the Canucks. But it was a price that didn't need to be paid.

ya but keep it to yourself don't run my teammates down, he was our best player no doubt and we were losing and after I kicked his ass we became a good team playing for each other.

I don't know man, the dude was clearly in a vulnerable position, the puck is gone, and you finish through like that. Seems like clear intent to hurt the guy, there's a difference between just finishing every check and taking advantage of a defenseless player, both Rome and Boychuck took advantage of defenseless players.
It's much different that finishing a guy standing up along the boards hard, I don't see this type of play hundreds of times in the playoffs, at least not since the lockout. Maybe back when playoff hockey was a blood bath.
There was some real hate in that series. Don't think it had much to die with Ryamond's strength, any grown man who gets taken into the boards hard while off balance is vulnerable to getting (frank)ed up.

Rome did what he was taught since minor hockey Horton didn't simple as that.

Aah you forgot going through center ice like it’s a non-contact beer league. A broken back & lucky not a cripple for life is ‘kind of dirty’. A players head between another's legs happens a 100x ya right 👍 That is Brittle? Gimme a break.
I mean 22 goals and 60 points, that’s pretty impressive production. He would likely be our third best winger and would round out a pretty nice top 6. - CanuckDon
Who you going to demote? “Skate-stick-top cheese” Leivo? “Shotgun”? 🐻 🧀? So much invested there...

ya my bruin fan buddies said what was Horton thinking, he wasn't, but the game is fast and rome had him lined up when he had the puck. It was a perfect hit his arms were down, hortons head was low and he was excellerating to the net.

Have to separate the player from the teams cap issues.
JTM is a goid player on a good contract.
He will help us & fill a big need.
A 3rd this draft was a key part in the trade happening now.
The 1st is for down the road to judge.
A 1st/3rd can very easily turn out fine & not be worse than 2-2nds.
We have 1-2yrs of JTM now which is better than we stood. The UFA market we lose no picks but would pay more for a top 6 probably longer term & put strain on our cap looking ahead.
The 1st traded has the team to prove the faith JB has in them & make him look good. If they are not worthy then sayonara to more players other than the ones we don’t like already.

Without LE pouting & sitting in Utica our F depth gets better. Those in the press box are better whether Leivo or JV or Motte. It’s not much but a sign of better depth & cheap at that.
