Hold down the fort I am going for wine. Pinot Noir is on the menu. Goes great with Lasagna.

UFA interview period started this morning, would not surprise me if the #Canucks show interest in D and Victoria native Jordie Benn.

Carol.

You think that P.K. Subban has more value right now with his age and contract than Miller? NJ was the only team willing to eat his entire 9 million dollar salary.

If you look at the pick value chart and all players involved in simple pick value. Unless it's a top 10 pick given up by Vancouver. Vancouver made out a long way ahead.

I can see we should just avoid this topic with you moving forward.

Why not claim him off waivers then?

No big deal . It not like it was a first round pick or anything .

The “analytics” crowd says that the difference between the two selections was negligible. Canucks probably still selected the exact same player. They wanted another player in the system I guess. He’s an RFA, so maybe they don’t end up signing him

You would think Vancouver was the only team bidding on Miller. People seem to forget there are other teams in the league. Just in case you were wondering

NJ's picks given up and where the players selected are a value somewhere around 680 vs if Vancouver finishes 20th next season the value is somewhere around 520.

160 points difference is pretty much another mid 3rd round pick for Subban.

I will never pick on TJ like I have Beagle, but I can’t promise I’ll be any nicer to Benji.

Carol, was there a short guy from Winnipeg sad we lost a 3rd rounder?

How many points if it’s a top 6?

Does Vancouver plan on taking two steps backwards in the next two years?

To base the entire trade off the worst case scenario.

Helps to set the parameters.

TJ could come here and not mesh well with Green or the system, could end up being a 13 goal 3rd line player.

Canucks could experience the same basic injury issues they have faced the past bazillion years.

Markstrom could revert back to his former self.

There are a lot of things that could happen that could keep them from making the playoffs this season and next. Will they all happen? Probably not, but you are saying the trade was a “win” at least compared to what NJ surrendered, but we don’t have all the facts yet, so I’m asking what does worst case look like under the pick value model.

Anywhere from 917 to 255 1st to 31st. 510 pick value is 12th.

How many 2nd and 3rd round picks have ever become lottery picks?

Also, here is a chart that disputes your claim. It's not like i'm cherry picking, first chart I found.

That's the same chart. Dispute my claims of what? Obviously I would have to ball park a few figures because we don't know where NJ or Van end up next year in the rankings. I attempted to go kind of middle of the road for both teams.

So from a what they gave up perspective, if the Canucks pick is not in the top 10 they gave up “less”? I guess we would need to revisit this in a couple years to include the impact that each player had on their new team. Put it in your book

You claimed that Vancouver gave up 520 points while NJ gave up 680, it's the reverse under your scenario of the finishing 20th.
