Yost just put an article up on TSN about how bad the Canucks have been at drifting the past 10 or so yeare (2007-2017). Not the prettiest picture - NewYorkNuck
From 07-13 was just beyond bad. Worst in the league by far. You've got to give a few years to see what draft picks can do for Bennings picks |

Yeah, but on a more positive note, we were tops in the league at drafting poorly. Totally dominated everyone else. |

I won't be, but I saw the roster and completely forgot that Karlsson was the return on the Dahlen (and essentially Burrows) trade. I am really interested to see how he does, since his stat line hasn't been all that impressive.
Also happy to see Lockwood back again. Him, Karlsson and Hoglander are the group I hope we see a lot of coverage on |

it's awesome to see that the canucks are ready to compete. i just hope that the team goes uber-benning this summer. if they really want to re-make the d, sign myers to whatever he wants. give winnipeg a pick to trade for his rights so you can sign him to an 8 year deal. 7 is good but 8's great!
and then go all in to get barrie. why wait until next year? they absolutely need to make the playoffs and barrie is the missing piece.
benning has shown that he's a fair negotiator. he'll get it done! - RealityChecker
Would you trade the “other” first to Colorado for Barrie? If we’re going to make the playoffs both years, neither will be a lottery. Add in a prospect like Joulevi and maybe a play now player like Hutton. |

If it is true and Barrie does want to come here then why would we not wait and let it play out?
Trading away any first right now is crazy. |

better to trade for him and a lock him up long term asap before the cap rises. It could be at 100M by the time Barrie and Myers are in the final years of their deal they'll be steals during the latter half of their contracts if both get locked Up for 7 years.
It's really a no-brainer in the big picture. |

Myers, Edler, Schenn (& Tryamkin?) would be quite a sizeable defence corp, though I wonder if they could catch anyone! - SlightlyOffside
If Tree starts getting benched again in the K, you can bet he’ll leave early and check out his options here. |

Thats fair but trading away another first? If you thought I lost my mind the last 2 days lookout if we give up another one.
Tanev and this years 2nd should have locked up Barrie. Sakic got greedy. |

That would be a fair price to pay for Barrie. Trader Jim gets good value in trades so let him work his magic.
Sign Barrie for the max 8 so you'd essentially have him for 9 years.
It's a no brainer. |

Dont think you can package a pick that’s part of a conditional trade. |

Maybe Woo surprises or one of the other RHD and we flip a healthy 🙏 Tanev at the deadline for a first. |

I like the thought of Tryamkin but he is a whiney little B1tch. If he can't handle minutes and a role in Russia how do you think he will fair here again? The guy is not a leader. We need role players and he would fill a role but he needs to understand that his $hit does stink. |

They did not show interest in both these players when I checked in on them earlier today. But it’s early.
Stralman and Zuccs

I've got a feeling that Hughes Edler Tanev Stecher are the top 4 this season. Van is looking to acquire some more steady 5/67/8 guys to allow the college kids to develop in Utica.
Upgrades if possible on Biega, Hutton, Schenn.
I did read that Dubas was asking for a player of equal value to Zaitsev in a trade. Possibly what teams are still asking for is too high. Price for D will come down when teams get closer to crunch time. - manvanfan
If it plays out like that, Canucks will have their 1st round pick next June. |

I like that better if you can recoup a first then all the power to you. Woo isn't ready yet. I would be pleasantly surprised if he was. I bet Joulevi is closer come camp. |

Gotta give to get. No one wants our trash. Not Benning's fault, he's working with what he has. |

5 years we have said its not Benjis fault. I really don't care who's fault it is but its up to him to fix it. |

He'll be fine if they don't ply him in game 7's.

It’s a condition within a condition. If ->then, if not->then the other thing. |

Weak effort I guess I’ll be the one to do it
“You wanna bring back this same crap defense???”
“You pay to play, no one wants to come here, Benning had no choice”
“Tired of this seeing this team get pushed around”
“If Myers sucks then how come other teams wanted him??”
“Look at his goals and points, he’s our best dman now” - Nucker101
