Thx carol. Imo Subban has negative value at a $9MM cap hit. No idea what Jersey was thinking. Subban is declining rapidly. Not sure how you think he is a better acquisition than Miller. Canucks likely overpaid a bit but I’m not stressed about it.

If Subban hit the open market, he probably gets at least that money anyway though so I'd say NJ paid about the right price. I personally would stay away as well, but I do think it's a bit hypocritical if any fans think Subban's contract is bad but are okay with signing Myers to a big contract.
Myers at 6-6.5M is just as brutal. |

Aidan McDonough does meet the criteria for "overage" status. The long time definition for "overage" is a player who at the beginning of a season turns 20 in that car lender year, and is playing junior hockey. In fact McDonough is a graduating junior hockey player. |

Yzerman was in on Miller as well. Sure there were other teams - CanuckDon
I guess none of them were offering a 1st round pick to get a team out from a cap crunch. |

Miller is a master of pretty but broken plays. It starts out well, but ends up with a turnover.
I just don't think he fit in with Tampa's system or coach. I expect he will perform better in Vancouver, but that 1st round pick will hang over him unless he pots 50 goals. - GalacticStone
lol it's a conditional first rounder outside of the lottery there champ. |

It's still a 1st round pick '20 or '21. I know you are not this stupid. |

No, it's a 1st round pick. If we're a lottery team next year then it slides to 2021 and is theirs regardless of where we finish. |

Does this bode well for the Canucks that you and I have disagreed for so long and they were poop and now we are agreeing on things so Canucks will get better? |

I think Subban's deal is a bit of a bargain for the next 3 seasons. The guy is still a top defender in this league and his impact on our team would be far, far greater than Miller's.

Here is what will happen, if miller doesn't score in the first 10 games the fans/hb will turn on him like louie and we will never hear the end of it. I have to go to work tomorrow and listen to whiners there to, I cant get away from it |

Thanks Carol! Hope the draft was fun for you.
Not a fan of the trade at all. I think if you put up two polls – who likes the trade, who likes Miller – it'd be pretty telling. No one on the trade, most people would like Miller. Such is though.... #lottowin2020 #playoffs2021 - NewYorkNuck
This for sure. Price was too high. But lookkng forward to having a top6 with 2 decent lines. I wonder if he will target any other forwards? Connolly is an interesting case, young and a late bloomer |

I wouldn’t offer a 3rd for Subban. Agreed on Myers, that’s some scary sh!t. But I think it’s inevitable. When players want to come home the Canucks feel obligated to bring them back. Myers, Benn and Barrie will all be on the team in two years |

26 points in 61 games.
In NY he played 17 minutes a game and had 58 points two seasons in a row. Last season 14 minutes 47 points. Maybe he gets 19 minutes a game here on the first line with Petey and scores 70? |

I’m cool with Barrie as long as it’s not a ridiculous contract
Benn should be an affordable stopgap and allow Vantel to sleep easy
I’m praying that some other desperate team outbids Jim for Myers but it does seem inevitable |
