You're not alone.

I think Subban's deal is a bit of a bargain for the next 3 seasons. The guy is still a top defender in this league and his impact on our team would be far, far greater than Miller's.

PK at 9m is a big cap hit we probably couldn’t fit in & tie up the cap for 3yrs.

JT can fit under the cap leaving room for now & later. His play will decide if JB & the pro scouts stick around.

I like Miller & a great add for a team like ours. Yes the price hurts but idk what other top 6 out there was to be had nor other teams offers for him.

Lots is riding on this years edition to step it up & prove JB right. Only the D can sink us for a PO run imo. Hughes for a full year will impact our chances in a big way but he needs support from everyone.

Leafs have traded three 1st and two or three 2nds since the 2016 off season when Matthews was drafted. They also backed the Brinks truck up to Marleau and JT and needed to trade a 1st to get rid of one of those contracts after 2 seasons.
