Guy litterally said "fire dubas he just hired a woman as a scout"
And now he's trying to weasel out, and blame me for twisting his words.

as said - you're being pathetic by making things up.
i criticized dubas for wanting to score SJW points by his self-promotion of 'hiring diversity'. i never critiziced him hiring a woman.

The last temptation of the Leafs for tonight: Dubas has done nothing to improve the team. The Cap situation is a bit better, but at the cost of a future first rounder. As it sits, the Leafs have too many of the same type of forward. Small, with speed, little sandpaper and a bellow average defence. It's up to Dubas to fix this inequity. Failing to do so means a step back and possibly missing the playoffs. One of these days, a team that's been sitting just out of the playoffs will make that push past them. Then it becomes peril, because many in the Metro division are stronger wild card teams. Watch out for Florida this year. - PrinceLH
I love this logic, the 7 other teams will stay the same, but the Leafs will regress and someone will pass them.
You really think Islanders, Pens, Canes, ETC are locks next year? |

The pundits said Marner wanted 9 per, which at the time was way too much. But then Dubas signs Willy to 6.9 and everyone went waaaaa? - aminnes

And please tell me what Nylander should have signed for? |

Everybody needs to chill.
Marner is not going anywhere, and none of the talking heads at TSN or Sportsnet actually know what numbers are being negotiated between Marner and the Leafs.
They talk and speculate and guess but they don't actually know jack squat.
The deal will get done, even if Marner goes on a mini trip. That is his right, it's business , don't take it too seriously.

(frank) off
Babcock is much more competitive than Dubas and wants to win a SC.
Dubas was concentrating more on making Leafs a more 'equitable hiring environment' - that was his main goal for this season.
Plus he felt the job was already done last season with this:
Imagine any other GM in league doing that for an AHL win.
If Chayka would have such a celebration after an AHL championship win, there would be days of making fun of him and his franchise.
Lou must have been embarrased by the little kid.
This is not the message you want to send out your NHL team.
Leafs will definitely not win a SC with Keefe as a head coach (Keefe the "Brampton Boys" member, the same guy that was not willing to report to San Antonio after being scratched from Coyotes NHL roster early in pre-season - that guy) - he has got a very questionable character. Leafs should not want to be involved with Keefe.
That then links to Dubas and his questionable decisions.
In all honesty I doubt Dubas is capable of leading this franchise any further, let alone a SC.
Lou knew that.
Hunter knew that.
Babcock knows that.
Biggest question mark is Shanahan - why the hell would he want to be involved with a guy that is so questionable in all his decisions, and in particular picks out bad company to be surrounded with.
We'll have a discussion about this in 5 years or so - I now predict a lot of dirt will come up from the Dubas 'era' during the next few years. - MaximusAurelius

I think the Bruins, Caps and Penguins are getting older and will start to decline.
I think the Sabres, Habs and Panthers are on the rise, and soon the Devils.
The Leafs we assume will get better as their core gets older, and hopefully Sandin, Liljegren, Bracco , Korshkov etc turn out to be NHLers.
The reality is we could finish first next year, or miss the playoffs. There isn't much difference between the teams when you get right down to it. |

Every year I think the Bruins are getting older and will start to decline. Every year it doesn't happen. Until it happens, I'm no longer going to presume it will.
The Caps and Pens have slowed down a bit, but Ovie and Crosby shouldn't be counted out. the one thing all three teams have is good goaltending and that can usually get you through the tough times.
For the Panthers and Sabres - I like them both - but if they don't land a top starter, I don't think they get there.
The Habs, I don't think, are necessarily trending upwards. They have Price and he can carry some load, but I don't see where they've gotten better per se.
Let's see how the rookies develop and what moves are made. |

the Bruins have been one of the best drafting teams the last 5 or so years which keeps prolonging their success. Despite not having top 10 picks they have found some elite players |

It’s a negotiating tactic.
A pretty poopty one though...I really think Paul Marner is giving him some bad advice. |

Funny about all of this is that when I said Bonnie Marner seems trailerpark trash (when the mothers went on a trip with the team and she was displaying some very annoying behaviour in the stands) and Marner seems to have a very strange family, most of you told me I was wrong - and some even displayed the for her.
Marner is a guy that comes from a family that is your typical lowlife family - a family which less and less was concerened by 'morals' due to their son's success. That's not to say that Marner is a bad kid - I don't think so at all.
By the way - Marner has every right to negotiate a deal he likes; we're not even 1st of July yet. Marner got less in his first contract (10% less than max on 1st contract) and since he got more points last 3 seasons compared to Matthews, almost similar PPG in regular season and a better PPG in playoffs, he is very right to ask for a very similar AAV as Matthews. |

Watching the one video of Marners Dad (where he is wearing the goofy hat) doesnt give me great confidence.
That said, the negotiations and all that stuff is the Agents not the families imo |
