We said the same thing when Nylander signed. We compared him to deals prior and you burn, busted out the laugh emojis. Do they have a hypocrite emoji? - aminnes
You might want to get a clue.
How am I a hypocrite? I compared him to prior deals as well. What comps did you use when I posted laugh emojis.
This place is (frank)ing hilarious. |

Not really. Ristolainen wants out of Buffalo because they don't want to make the moves that make them a playoff team. He's sick of losing.
Willy the mercenary went for the payday, and to hell with the team. He was a bust in the regular season and in the playoffs. His career was built on the back of AM34 and when he didn't get to play with him anymore, he became a millstone. Tyler Innis has more mojo then this gutless swine.

I love Marner as much as the next Leafs fan, but there's no way in (frank)ing hell he deserves to be the highest paid winger IN THE HISTORY OF THE LEAGUE. |

I don’t get why so many fans don’t like younger executives. Dubas was trashed as soon as he started wearing glasses ffs.
Same thing with the Yotes. Is it jealousy over these guys being so successful at an early age?
I’m an old guy myself and I would much rather have a young gm running the Leafs. Just hire some experienced help for when he needs it. - shack67

Give Kadri his ice-time back by letting him play with JT. Give them a second faceoff option. Let Willy grow into a C, give him his countryman and best friend. - Arctic_AARDVARK

Ristolienen sucks.
Lol and the rest of the bs in here.

That’s probably how the players would chose to play together anyways.. I’m sure Kadri would like to stop more minute, and ride shotty with JT. |

From what I understand Dubas has been in hockey his whole life, and he was mentored and promoted by Lou and Shanny who know a thing or two. I don't understand how people are even forming a judgement at this point. I don't know what he does. Tavares came here on his watch, that's pretty good. I don't what people are so upset about. |

Sure.....why not. Who had more goals last year? Willy or Brown? Or Willy or Ristolainen? I think Willy is destined to be a bust going forward. Reminds me too much of Galchenyuk.

It’s not just Babs though. Quenneville wouldn’t play Kane and Toews together unless he had no choice. |

I think it's because he got Nylander at a cap hit under $7M, but he is outright refusing to give Marner a blank cheque. |

Willy did go for the payday. And on Marner, not a cent past $9M. Centres and Defencemen should have a pay premium, not a winger. |

I think it’s a bit more than that. Some people are more comfortable with people with track records.
Think of doctors. Some people like smart, fresh out of training docs who really seems to know the latest literature but some people are more at ease with older doctors with experience. |

Gotta get him hooked on the premo winger first, give him a taste of the goods..
Now give him a leaner diet of Naz, and Matthews can inject some Marnoin into his game. |

Why are people now saying that Marner and his agent wanted to sign before last season and made an offer? What's this revisionist history crap?
Doesn't anyone else remember Marner's agent going on about how Dubas sent them a "lowball" offer and they wouldn't sign because Marner deserved more and they'd prove it this season?
So Dubas was the one that actively tried to sign Marner before this season, yet several people on here have been going on about how Dubas should've tried to sign him...
All that said. I still think Marner ends up getting signed as a Leaf. We'll need to sit through a bunch more drama and then they'll sign for more than we'd like, but less than we feared. |

If he signed for 7-8 years for the same AAV, I bet you wouldn’t hear these talks. 6 does seem a bit short |

Size, power, shots etc etc.
MM is more willing to put his body in harm’s way, but I don’t blame AM here. He seems a bit of glass body so far. - gamerdoc
Which negates his size to an extent. He takes more shots but he is receiving the puck form someone. It;s been a long time since he scored any end-to-end goals. So he has a better shot.
Marner is not worth 10.5, but AM isn't worth that either. Leafs have been bad negotiators and are now paying for it, yet somehow everyone is blaming Marner for drawing comparisons, which every player does. |
