If your posts are idiotic are we not allowed to say they are idiotic?

If you don't want people to insult you, stop giving us so much god damn ammo.

if you think that having a different opinion = idiotic, you would have made a good loyal german in the 1940s

you're right about the decline from 28y onwards, but that is for regular NHL'ers.
not the topline players like Bergeron/Marchand/Rask etc.

- MaximusAurelius[so I agree with you on that]
Not sure though whether all of Marchand-Bergeron-Rask-Krejci will still have 3-4 good years..

Bruins do have some other good younger players as well though (I like Heinen, Carlo and a few others) - ánd they have a very good young goalie prospect in Vladar (I like him and am quite sure he'll become an NHL starter) - I don't know about their other goalie prospects... seems like their biggest question mark long term is for the Center position.

I do like Heinen, Carlo, even DeBrusk as players - but I omitted mentioning them because I felt that they weren't necessarily difference makers on their own. If you have a mediocre team without top-end talent, those guys aren't really going to change the direction the bus is being driven in.

I also agree that top-end or elite players frequently do decline at a slower pace, but if you look at general performance, most players begin a slow decline at around 28-29 that is strangely significant between 29-30. More elite players tend to show a drop in performance from 29-30, but their performance from 30 - 34 is pretty consistent. 35 onwards tends to slope right down.

Some notable exceptions: Alfredsson and Daniel Sedin.

Nasty and offensive comparison there Max. We are on Hockey blog discussing our favorite team. Comparing any poster to a Nazi because of comments made is over the top

I was alright with the Robertson pick riiiiight up until I found out he's not that great of a skater.

You can be small in the NHL but you better be able to skate.

He can improve on that a bit but it's going to be a long, hard road for a guy that small to make the NHL without being able to skate at an NHL level.

I don't know, maybe it's just a really weak and thin draft but I don't see anybody outside of maybe Kokkonen making an impact down the road. And that's just because he plays a position the Leafs need and he plays the game intelligently.

- JohnFergusonJr

I hadn't read about that. That is something he'll need to step up big time, then.

Good news is, it's usually easier for little guys to improve their skating than bigger guys.

I'll give you heinen and debrusk, but Carlo is a difference maker. He had the lowest GA/60 of any defenseman that played over 1,000 minutes in the NHL at 22 yo. His defense pairing was with Krug, so it's not like he's a defensive stalwart. He doesn't move the needle on the offensive side, but if you're elite in your own end I'll take that.

I know nothing about his family.
It was just the impression they gave me.
I made a comment on it.
apparently everybody can make comments on their impressions, except some who are not into the 'group opinion' think..

- MaximusAurelius

You can have an opinion and comment all you want.
You said Marner's mom "seems to be trailer trash". That's fine. Nothing wrong with that, its your opinion that she "seems" to be that way.

But then you go on to say "Marner is a guy that comes from a family that is your typical lowlife family" which is more matter of fact statement. I''m just asking if you actually knew them or knew of what makes them a "typical lowlife family".

Seemed like a decent pick reading about him, one of the youngest players in the draft. Apparently he’s a feisty little player, plays with an edge. He was rated in the 20s by a few different people. This is my expert opinion of a player I have never heard of before Saturday.

He didn't call you a nazi.

And FFS, ducks don't talk, so RJ's point is just idiotic.

You'd think a kid from Boston would know more about ducks.

Aj, We joke around a lot on here, but I really don't think the topic of Nazi's a comedic topic.

You're absolutely right...I'll edit my comment if you could do the same in your quote of mine. that was no bueno.

ok you are right to point that out.
I based my opinion on my impressions of Bonnie Marner + Marner's dad's comments - do not have any information though on them.

So I'm wondering if Johnsson and Kappy are "done" but not announced because they have a couple of options for both (short term and longer term) depending on what MM costs.

Also wonder if MM and Leafs have a 3 year bridge on the table.

If Mackenzie's numbers are right and assuming Zaitsev stays and the bottom end of the roster is filled with young Ahl'ers ....then the Leafs have 9.7 to spend on MM.

I'm still liking my 6 x 9.5.
