All this subjective bullsh1t for 30 fcuking pages. Jesus, you're all like a bunch of nattering old women thinking they have some type of clue as to the inner workings of a NHL team and a NHL Agency during the negotiation of a star player.

Marner's team and the Maple Leafs management are negotiating a new deal. That's the ONLY fact anyone knows...on these boards or on TSN. END OF STORY.

Nobody knows term or Cap or how much of a douche his dad is or how trailer park his mom is....quit with the guessing and then spewing that bullsh1t like it's fact.

FFS. It's not even our money. WGAF if he wants a gazillion. Management will make a decision and that will be it. Marner is a Leaf or he's not.

Can we go back to boob GIFs for a few days???

Nah, there's actually plenty of evidence of that being factual.

John Shannon said today Carolina isn’t willing to go more then 6 million a year on an 8 year term. not sure if he knows poop, but that’s crazy.

For Aho?

That's amazing if it's Aho.

Yes sorry, didn’t realize I missed a pretty important piece in there. That should be the top offer sheet candidate for teams. Seems so far off it can’t be true though.

I wouldn’t call him stupid. In over his head it appears though.

Side note; Elliotte Friedman also said teams are telling him that if some team does offersheet Marner and TOR doesn't match, they're terrified of what TOR might do with extra cap space, picks, and a vengeance.
- PatC80

That was a really good point that was brought up a while ago. I don't remember who it was (probably Friedman) but they said they talked to a GM in the Western Conference who said there was no chance they'd offer-sheet any Leafs players because of exactly that.

An ELC is cheap for 3 years.

And the cap goes up every year with the US TV deal is coming up soon.

Marner at 11 AAV doesn't hurt any more or less than Matthews and Tavares.

And as Tavares ages, you're going to want a guy like Marner passing him the puck.

A quality UFA out there would cost the same to replace him.

- JohnFergusonJr

Seeing as how that's a huge over payment, yes, it does hurt the Leafs.

While my response to his post was factually accurate, I like this response more.

4 1sts and a possibility of signing a 7-9.5 million dollar player? Yeah thats scary.

Kyperios said something similar at the draft but it was Kyperios, so it needed to be taken with a grain of salt.

It's kind of incredible that Carolina can think that.

It goes up an average of 2 million every year.
- JohnFergusonJr

mixed in with 4-5M increases.

could only be $2M increases for a while.

If I were Marner, I'd threaten to cut him out of my life if he doesn't take a huge step back.

If Aho doesn't accept that offer (why would he?) We should trade Marner for Aho and Pesce.

Well we don’t know what their relationship is like.

Marner could be the same as his father for all we know.

If that’s the case I would be worried about him.

Sound logic.. Make me the highest paid winger now, because I may become the best winger in the game later?

If they’re not willing to pay up for Aho then no chance they’d want Marner and what he’s asking. Marner and Aho are pretty comparable, adding Pesce is probably too much. This next week is going to be a poop show

You’re right, add Hamilton instead...man I’d be a good GM

When can teams start interviewing Ufa's. If I was the Leafs Brass I'd throw the media some bones and make up some poop that there going hard at Panarin. Stir the pot a bit.
