What about Henrique from Anaheim? - Powerslave
Too old, too pricey, doesn't like the cold, wife won't come here, advanced stats suck, only will play for coaches who are Pisces, he's a bum. Take your pick. |

I will be curious to see how it shakes out. Will teams be more cautious, or will there still be the normal major activity on the big names?
Duchene, Panarin, Bobrovsky, Nyquist, and Zuccerello all would likely be locks to sign on the 1st, right? - thatsapickle
I bet Zuccerello is the last to sign of all of them
He doesn't strike me as a guy that is going to jump right away |

I like him. He had one of the more productive lines in Anaheim last year.
5.8M over 6 years isn't terrible. But he has a 10 team no trade.
Would be interesting to see how that shakes out. |

That also makes sense.
There is a lot of talk here in Dallas that he really likes it here.
I was hoping that the Roller Hockey Tournament that the Stars are putting on here would have had better turnout. Stefan Noesen and Blake Coleman were likely going to play for the team I am going to "coach," but now that tournament is struggling, so there is no point in them coming out to play. |

That is absolutely insane ....... what are these gms thinking.
Side note: all these bad contracts definitely looks like we will have another lockout soon - Sabretooth9
You keep saying this....but why does overpaying signal a lockout? You're never going to stop GM's from overpaying to get UFA's.

.@renlavoietva: I do believe Myers will be a 7 year contract. it could be $8 million per season. $6 million might be a bit low. GM's are looking at the cap being lower and demand for young players - could be less money spent in FA but there's a lot of demand for defensemen.
WOW...Dahlin gonna get PAID - Stripes77
I fn loved that baby giraffe more than any thing. Still wear his t shirt jersey thing I have but him getting paid 8M is an absolute joke.
Trouba is about to ask for 10 seeing this.

I still see him as the most realistic 2C trade scenario.
I could see NSH dealing Turris and eating like 2M and he could be a 2C for someone. Hopefully not us. |

This. Paying rookie qb's 60 mill guaranteed is something that leads to a lockout. Paying a hockey player too many years for too much money means you lose your job (and probably get another one in a year or two).

I heard you can win the Calder again if you're tall enough to reach it off the highest shelf in bettmans office. But you also have to dust up there while you're at it |

We talking just in general overall or who you would take on the Sabres?
Because paying 2 forwards 20M when we have 1 NHL qualified center seems about as smart as when BuffaloHardHat said that Mike Weber was our best defensemen. |

On our end, no. Dahlin is about as untouchable as it gets. 2 yrs left on ELC and projects as one of if not the best defenseman in the league in a couple of years. |

So based on these reported salaries, the NHL is going to fold in the next 3/5 years.
8mm a year for Tyler Myers.
So a 3rd pairing guys makes 8mm
2nd pairing make 11
Top pair make 14mm each.

As good as Marner is nobody is trading a franchise D for him. I don't see how they deal with this because they really can't get proper value back if they were to trade him. |
