No! I’m not going to shut up about it. It was a heaping pile of crap ontop of the massive heaping pile of crap that is poor Buffalo sports decisions! And if you would’ve read my post, I clearly said probably not the worst ever but DEFINITELY the worst in the last decade THUS FAR

Well, like Frodo sailing to the weird Elf world at the end of LotR, he's gone and he's not coming back.

Although maybe Frodo did come back, idk

The point is, ROR is gone

If Botterill does what is necessary to acquire a 2nd line center and a top six RW I'll shut up about it.

Day 360: As my fellow sea mates and I sit on this deserted island, waiting to be rescued by Admiral Botterill, the prayer circles to the One True Hockey God have mostly dissipated. They had picked up fervently in recent weeks due to the poor weather and lack of quality supplies on our little island.

As we sit in waiting, a blood thirsty zealot of our ranks returns from the jungles after not being heard from in weeks, maybe months. DEMANDING praise for the One True Hockey God, my comrades and I calmly wait for the wind to die from his sails, so we can go on with our solitary lives, looking to survive and awaiting redemption and rescue from Admiral Botterill.

Yours, Taco

And they don't even make the playoffs without the Hamburglar - I mean Binnington - coming in to save the season. There are many reasons
- jcragcrumple

I would say because of that Binnington is the bigger reason they won the cup.. had they stuck with Allen they very well could have and most likely would have missed the playoffs

Is the ROR trade thus far the worst in NHL history? Maybe not but it has to be the worst in the last decade at least.

Think about the initial return...

- Berglund was brought in to be a stop gap 2C he sucked then quit on the team. At least we saved cap on him
- Sobotka was supposed to be a "quality" bottom six guy. He had the worst or second worst stats in the entire NHL in multiple analytical categories and he complained about not getting more ice time.
- Thompson, there's a chance he could come into his own in the next few years but he's been a mess in the NHL thus far
- 1st round pick ended up being the worst the Sabres could hope for because the Blues and ROR won the cup. Johnson is a prospect most saw as a mid 2nd round pick. Really can''t speak on him yet obviously but if he's anything less than a top pairing defender in 5-6 years it was a bad move

- bluengold12

Ott got Duchene for Turris, Bowers, Hammond, Byram, and someone else in the third... I think that turned out equally as poopy for Ott

Lavoie - Nothing much is happening around the league over the last few days. A lot of teams have turned their direction to July 1st. I was told that the #Sabres are shopping Rasmus Ristolainen hard. Nobody told me that he's asked for a trade, but we'll see how it turns out.

I find it interesting that again in interviews today with Dylan Cozens that he says he would like to play Center long term but has no problem playing wing if that is what the Sabres want him to do at first.

I feel like that conversation has already occurred and they told him they like his chances of playing RW. He has a much much better chance of making the team earlier if he is a RW in my opinion.

Many would agree with you. And the Conn Smythe was by no means a runaway either. Parayko and Binnington both have a claim to it, similar to Kessel that one year.

Whatever. It's immaterial to us now anyway

Yes. All I want to see is us not be the laughing stock of the NHL. Cut the dead weight by whatever means necessary, acquire a 2nd line center and top six RW. A team in this kind of hockey market, with an owner who has as much cash and is willing to spend it, with three top 2 picks in the last six years should not have the longest active playoff drought.

To start:

- Release Sobotka to the AHL
- Release Hunwick to the AHL
Release Wilson to the AHL (Zero cap space is eaten from this move and saves us some)
- Park Okposo in the press box unless injury if he doesn't like it release him to the AHL
- Don't tender Girgensons and Larsson pick one if you have to or trade both for hockey pucks
- Trade Scandella take back 25-40% of the salary if you have to

These are the kind of moves the GM should be making. Cut the dead weight out of this line up then I'll start feeling better about the team.

Had to laugh at this. Well done.

I'll probably return to the jungles again soon unless a major trade or signing happens.

I actually had completely forgotten about that.

Who were his linemates? Do you remember? I'm curious who they bumped him out to wing to play Center.

I have sat on the hill for a long time now that Casey should have played wing all of last season and just be trying to be a mainstay at Center now this year.
