That is the salesman in me talking. Ghost isn't the dman they need. They need a player like Sanheim or Provorov who can play as well in his own zone as on the attack. That would make them better. The Flyers would be crazy to move either of them.

I'm curious as to why Ekland thinks there should be more offer sheets. I think it would only make it more impossible for well run teams to win a cup. And in real life away from the sports world its normal for workers to move there way up the pay scale. Nobody just walks in making top dollar. And if the common man has to prove themselves then it shouldn't be any different for hockey players.

Not sure what the spiel is about Zaitsev and having to "sweeten" the pot for any deal.

Leafs dont "need" to trade him. He's not Marleau. He can go play in the KHL if he doesnt get traded, problem solved.

He's also a good d-man in a #3 or 4 slot, and has had a 30+ point season until Babcock destroyed his offensive output.

If they cant trade him, he either plays here or plays in the KHL, but the Leafs are in a win-win situation in that scenario. No need to do anything.

No Kevin Hayes is a gross over payment too. Just saying that Nylander with his limited sample size and stupid contract is not worth a top pairing D man on the trade market.
