I don’t know how the Oilers will be but damn the Condors are going to be good....added Samorukov, Bouchard, McLeod, Maxsimov then gets a healthy Yamamoto to add to what’s there |

My eye is on Saarela, of whom I think is gonna be one hell of a gem for Chicago. I think Carolina trading him away is gonna bite them in the ass later on.

I think Saarela must have some kind of issue that isn't immediately visible through the numbers. Haven't seen scouting reports for him lately, but maybe his skating is viewed as a hindrance to NHL play? |

Well, his skating was good enough to be a major factor in helping carry the Checkers to a Calder Cup championship.
He's a good offensive forward that I think will mesh well into a top 9 role at the very least. Perhaps even a top 6 later on. |

Shouldn’t jujhar be on that bottom 6 list? I’m good with him there - doon
Likely he will. The list was of all players signed through next season, as of right now Khaira is not signed. |

Just saw this but... defender Erik Gustafsson of Chicago... former Oiler pick in 2012 had 60 points last season... how the (frank) did we lose him and how am I finding this out now? |

Not sure if it was management that didn't sign him or that he didn't want to sign, but either way, he came over with offensive pedigree from his time in Sweden and wasn't expected to do much more than be a tweener/6-man. Lo-and-behold, he joined the league right in time for the change in style and fit right in. |

We talked about it in here during an Oilers Hawks game last season and because Oilers I can’t wait for Talbot to sign with the Flames....I mean it’s not like former Oilers come back to burn us

Good, he can let in the first shot on goal every game for them. I have no problem with that. |

I feel like the Oilers are that girl who was SO hot in high school, but then you run into her five or six years after graduation, and she’s put on like fifty pounds, has three kids, a drinking problem, etc. And you wonder, “what the hell happened to this girl???”, but then you find out that her ex-boyfriend was Peter Chiarelli |

I’m not sure what to make if it but there is a chance De Haan might not be ready to start the season - RatedR80
He won't be. He's out 4-6 months. |

Seems like every struggling Oiler that leaves us does better in other pastures. - EdmHockeyMan
Petry is the top 4 right hand shot we are seeking....Duby became an all star.....Jultz won a couple of cups....Strome turned back into a somewhat decent player.....Maroon won a cup so it wouldn’t shock me at all if Talbot goes 2016 mode for the Flames....not saying it’s a sure bet but it’s possible given recent history

Gaëtan Haas to join the Edmonton Oilers?
The SC Bern-forward has reportedly received an offer from the NHL-team.
27-year-old Haas is close to signing a deal with the Edmonton Oilers, as Watson reports. The forward was said to have been offered a contract over a month ago by the same source but was not yet allowed to disclose from which team. Jaro Turma, his agent, confirms having received the offer.
Haas signed a contract extension with Bern back in January which includes an NHL-out clause for this summer which would allow him to leave for North America.
In 59 games this past season, the centerman recorded 19 goals and 26 assists. |

Looks like Haas is that possible good/cheap forward depth that Holland was talking about getting this off season....doesn’t hurt to roll the dice given the situation

Yeah I dont mind it tbh. Getting players from Europe is always a bit of a gamble but it is generally cheaper than dipping in to free agency. |

Will create some competition during training camp too....guys will have to work a little harder if they want to wear an Oilers jersey this year

Oilers have qualified Puljujarvi and Khaira. Have let every other RFA go..... just thinking about this whole Puljujarvi situation and what if another team offer sheets him? |

Then the Oilers can match it meaning Jesse signs a contract with the Oilers. If someone is prepared to pay him enough to get us a 2nd, I don't think I say no. |

They will match because no team is going to pay him lots and if they do then that’s some quality draft picks for us
