Many reports have Penguins after Simmons, Zucker and Tyler Myers...Idk how we would sign Myers unless they agree to a deal and trade Schultz. Maybe JR will trade Horny, Rust, and Schultz for Zucker and some younger cheaper talent and sign Myers and Simmons as the replacements. - 123Kid
Tyler Myers is seeking between 6 and 8 million according to Dreger (or at least he is saying the market for him is in that range, which is way too much. I have also not seen a single article linking the pens to myers? any links? |

I was just looking it up, the report is that Vancouver is willing to offer 7 to 8mill per season over 7 years... but they also balked at a trade for Barrie because it would cost them too much... |

Colorado is still making moves to free up cap space. Could easily move Barrie for a nice return and still be fine on D. If anyone can throw out a decent offer sheet, it is them. Laine on that team... |

How would they be fine on D? Who’s going to be their number 1? Barrie is a stud, I don’t see anyone on that roster that’s as good as him. Girard might be solid but I don’t know if he’s Barrie good. |

RHD: EJ, Barrie, Makar, Timmins
LHD: Girard, Cole, Zaddy, Barberio, Connauton, Graves,
Girard-Makar
Cole-EJ
Zadorov-
I imagine they’d be looking to add another RHD as Timmins recovers from his concussion. Barrie is a great D man and he’s going to be paid, it just doesn’t sound like Sakic wants to do it. Wouldn’t surprise me if he moved Barrie and brought in Schultz to play with Cole again 😍 |

I WPG a few newspapers wrote about Penguins being interested along with a list of teams. Pittsburghhockeynow has also stated the same from Canadian media sources. I think it is crazy myself. Then again I wonder if Schultz is asking for a similar number during extension talks. |

A lot of people underestimate how critical it is to have dmen like that in their lineup. |

Ooph. I dunno man. After 10 NHL games they’re just going to make Makar a number 1 D? That’s a hell of a gamble. I know he’s going to be good but id prefer 1.Barrie 2.Makar 3.Johnson on the right side. |

I agree with jumping him to their no. 1 is a big jump, I was shocked at the ice time and position they put him in as quick as they did in the playoffs. |

Girard and Makar have higher ceilings than Barrie. They also will lose 1 of them in the expansion draft if they kept Barrie. They picked the #1 Dman in the draft this year so Barrie is kind of forced out.

7th in the NHL in defensemen scoring... not really sure there is a higher ceiling than that unless they catapult to the elite status. I mean sure they could be Burns or Karlsson, but they aren’t there yet and I bet they won’t be there for a few years.
Still doesn’t make sense to me. |

Who’s worked up? I’m not worked up about anything. Just pointing out that you’re logic is as flawed as it comes. - j.boyd919
There really is no logic in watching your favorite team underperform for pretty much the entire season. And then completely fall apart in a very short first round playoff knockout.
I observed this season and offered a potential solution. You disagree and that's perfectly fine. Just know that your wish to keep all these guys around until they retire is flawed as well. |

Anyone have a link to a twitter exchange with Mark Madden where someone posted JJ stats to disprove Madden's usual stupid ramblings? Saw it here a week or so ago and can't find it. |
