Not sure if it's a hard rule or an unwritten rule but yeah 3 camps is the limit.

Weren't Allison and Laczynski drafted in the same year.
I thought the rule was a player stopped going to Development camp after their 3rd pro year. |

Maybe we should stop blindly guessing at the reasons and let someone with inside knowledge comment about it? I'm sure it will get asked at a media session |

Allison at camp:
“ I do see myself signing with Flyers one day. I can’t say what they are thinking. Oh well. I’m taking it day by day. It’s just my knee right now. It’s a 2 year injury. I’m at 17 months now.” |

He's not. Allison is there and was drafted the same year as Laczynski. |

Neither Allison or Laczynski are pros. They are college players who have to pay their own way to attend these camps. |

Mark Friedman attended every dev camp from 2014 to 2018. Five of them. |

Habs need a LHD. What do they have that we need? I don't see them parting with any of their young kids so I would not dangle Ghost to them. I think Paul Byron would fill our 3rd wing hole but not sexy enough for Ghost.
I personally dislike Shaw but don't really know if there is a fit there. I'm not that familiar with any of their other players besides Weise, Weal, and Folin.
I can't see them trading Domi or Drouin or that Finnish kid. |

Bill will respond but I thought I remember hearing something about paying your own expenses after a certain time or under certain status.
Let's wait for Bill. |

https://thehockeynews.com...now-the-eligibility-rules
According to NCAA rules, players can attend a pro team’s camp once for 48 hours and the team can pay all their expenses (and yes, major junior teams are considered “pro” by the NCAA). But after that 48 hours is up, the player must leave immediately to qualify. This is important, because if a camp is five days long, for example, the player can stay the duration, but only if they pay for all their own food and lodging after the 48-hour window. Also, if you stay longer, the team can no longer pay for your plane/train/bus fare home. That’s on you.
You can use the 48-hour rule with as many teams as you want, but only once with the same team. So if you’re drafted by an NHL franchise, there’s almost always a rookie camp to attend. If you don’t want to pay the expense, you can only be there 48 hours. If you’re still in college the next summer, you have to pay your own way to rookie camp.
Also important, though less common: you can’t miss school to attend an event. But most of this happens during summer anyway. |

That was my point. I would expect Lazcynski if Allison is eligible. |

Byron is a heckuva player. Might be a decent straight up trade but I'm not sure I want to see Ghost go. I feel like he's going to put it all together. |

Yes, but he'll have to pay his own way. It's the same reason Farabee/O'Brien weren't there last year. |

I think Fletcher would be run out of town trading Ghost for Paul Byron straight up. I'd only entertain Ghost in the offer if it brought back a good prospect or young player.
Hagg for Byron? Not strong enough for Montreal? I think they have enough bottom pair guys. |

Byron and a first round pick for Ghost, does that get it done?
Not that I necessarily want to see Ghost traded just throwing ideas out there to see what people think it would take.

I really just have no interest in Paul Byron. I know who he is and what he's done, but if he's one of the key pieces to moving Ghost, sorry, pass. |

What do I know? Byron has plus speed and can kill penalties. Perfect 3rd liner. Not sure of cap hit but can't be crazy.
1st rounder takes sting out of losing Ghost. Not sure. Hate to see Ghost go but I think writing is on wall. |

In regards to no Tanner, is it because he’s attended x amount already in the past? Or am I thinking of another training/camp? Didn’t this happen with Stolarz in the past or am I making this up? - arichardson22
he's in the same draft class as some of the other kids there. I asked the question yesterday but thinking about it, wasn't he hurt at the end of last season or am i thinking about someone else? |
