Just had a quick look online.
Past 10 years, outside of the 1st round, the following have made a career:
2009 #83. Rd 3 Kevin Connauton
2012 #147. Rd 5 Ben Hutton
2014 #36. Rd 2 Thatcher Demko
2015 #149. Rd 5 Adam Gaudette - dbot
Pretty slim stuff there but a few in the pipeline looking to stop that trend. |

Canucks were going to trade down if Podkolzin wasn't there. Meaning they would have traded down with Zegras was still there. Canucks rankings and yours all almost completely backwards - manvanfan
None of us have talked or met with these prospects, canucks put high value in character. |

Risto 24yrs 3/5.4m
He’s looking better to me in a trade to avoid Myers or Gardiner & what will want.
Maybe Sutter retain 50% is close enough |

JB would throw in a 1st and Demko.
Buffalo doesn't have to move Risto I don't think.
they're not in a cap crunch situation like TML.
I think targeting Toronto and acquiring Zaitsev with a sweenter is the best pathway.
OR vegas.

Granny will get signed by someone else. Good luck to him, always liked him.
I'd give Hutton a 1 year low ball deal if we can't make other moves on the backend.
Gaunce and Pouliot are likely off on European vacations. |

OS Aho 5/8.3m cost a 1st/3rd - Nighthawk
Pretty sure we can’t since our 1st (conditionally) belongs to TB. That JT trade seemed to suggest that we’re not interested in offersheeting an expensive RFA - unless there’s a way around that I’m unaware of. |

Sabres could push for a top UFA with more cap space. Their D needs are not much a defensive D man wouldn’t make better.
Sweetener for Zaitsev would have to be huge sweetener for me to take on his contract.
VGK i see as better odds to happen. |

I said the same thing before.
The way around it is an another trade with TBL to rectify it into a 2021 1st. Straight up if feeling generous lol or a hockey trade or add a pick. Which is for discussion. |

Moot really because there’s no way CAR doesn’t match. 0%. |

According to Dreger Canucks can still OS as long as they have 4 of 5 of their first round picks in tack |

Agreed but their rumoured 8/6m was an insult. If I were Aho i’d test the market to get his worth. Canes stop silly playing games with him. |

So is the conditional 1st a grey zone & they can use the 2021 1st on an OS? |

@Account4Hockey: Darren Dreger said on TSN 1050 radio that there are three teams that will meet with Mitch Marner for sure, possibly four.
Dreger added that both an agent and an NHL executive told him that an offer sheet would be “in the teens,” $13-14 million for five years

1. We should sign Brock to a long deal now.
2. We better conserve cap for Petey & Hughes eventual extensions (find alternatives to mediocre UFA signings). |

The Colorado Avalanche have traded forward Carl Soderberg to the Arizona Coyotes for defenseman Kevin Connauton and a 2020 3rd round pick
The 33-year old Soderberg was drafted 49th overall in the 2nd round of the 2004 draft by the St. Louis Blues. He carries a $4.75 million cap hit for one more season.
The 29-year old Connauton was drafted 83rd overall in the 3rd round of the 2009 draft by the Vancouver Canucks. He carries a $1.375 million cap for another season.
Mike Chambers: Avalanche GM Joe Sakic: “This trade allows some of our young centermen to have a chance to play a more prominent role on our team while adding an experienced defenseman to our roster” |

Couple of Development Camp notes:
- WhiteLie
I was there today for most of these conversations.
For me, the big one was Lockwood. He was adamant about how much he appreciates the Canucks sticking with him through his injuries and says he fully intends to repay that loyalty. Didn't leave himself any wiggle room. He had me convinced!
Also - for a kid who was on the slight side when he was drafted, he has definitely filled out through his shoulders and torso. Not small at all anymore.
He'll be captain at Michigan next season and plans to graduate with a degree in Psychology.
