I have a feeling the Bored Trophy Wife is in for a big surprise at the turnstile this year. She thinks all she has to do is show a few more kids flossing and people will be flocking to see the crappy team she put together.
Once there in last place though, Mrs. Bored Trophy Wife will plan 15 nights of Hockey Supports XXXXXXXXXXXXX. (insert cause of the night here). The only way she can get someone to show, because the team she is totally responsible for is a colossal failure for the 7th year in a row. - RippedFuel
But at least we’ve got Jeffy for the next 8 seasons...so there’s that...

Agreed. I will extend it to all pets.
Worst decisions most have to make. I know there are worst decisions out there, but majority of people dont have to make them. This is one, almost all people go through. |

That leaves Sean Malone, Eric Cornel, Jack Dougherty, and Brycen Martin out of the mix and into unrestricted free agency. Malone already signed a one year deal with Rochester. |

As you said, July 1st is Stupid Season. No reason to sign another Okposo. We don't have much trade assets...
So I won't be surprised if it's minimal moves. Everyone will hate this, but we will be better next season, even with the same roster. With no real assets to move for help now and so many teams throwing out stupid contracts, I'm not sure hyperactivity is our best move at present.
Try to get a 2-3C or top4 defender through trade or FA. Send Girgs and Sobotka back from whence they came. Call up Olo and Nylander. We're better than last season. Don't hold your breath for playoffs, you'll suffocate. - RhinoFan
I feel a mother(frank)ing rant building. This is such utter bullpoop (and none of this is directed at you) that we all recognize no playoffs in the 3rd year of Botterill. It's so (frank)ing unacceptable. You don't just get to sit on your hands and hope poop gets better. You have to make things better.
If he isn't willing to take some chances to make this team a playoff team with 2 absolute studs and 2 more in Reinhart and Skinner who are damn near studs, than hand the reins over to someone who will make some (frank)ing moves to maximize what we have here.
Counting on Krueger and Olofsson to turn this around while signing the (frank)ing Greg McKegg and jordie Benn while saying "sorry, nothing else made sense for us" is not acceptable.
Do. Something. Or get out of the way. Either there's a vision, or there's not. He doesn't get to just ride the tide with a margarita in his hand.

All empty netters, that he steals off a teammate’s stick. For our only twelve wins of the season. And he celebrates each of them like he just won game 7 of the Cup finals, then he does the Johnny Manziel “money-fingers” to the crowd. |

One other point on this: if Botterill fails to make a significant move, it would read to me like he's afraid to have a move backfire on him. You can't have a GM with a case of the nerves - jcragcrumple
Depends on what “big move” is available.
You’re one of the leaders of the “he can’t take back spare parts for Risto” people on this board.
If he holds onto him because no ones offering a legit, young top 6 player, are we then going to criticize his lack of a big move?
Are we going to get pissed he doesn’t sign a big UFA, while simultaneously criticizing Okposo’s contract on a daily basis?
Seems people want to have Tim Murray as their offseason GM, with the results just being wildly different |

UPDATES ON PAVELSKI AND DONSKOI
THE ATHLETIC: Pierre LeBrun reports San Jose Sharks captain Joe Pavelski has UFA interviews set up with a couple of teams this week. Dialogue remains open between Sharks GM Doug Wilson and Pavelski’s agent. It’s believed the 34-year-old forward could visit the Dallas Stars and Tampa Bay Lightning this week. The Buffalo Sabres are also said to be interested but don’t have a visit scheduled with him.
shocked the sabre are interested in pavelski
just shocked
- homiedclown
Why???
He might be 34, but he’s still producing at a near elite level
Unlike some of the other Vet scrubs i hear mentioned here too often (Perry, Simmonds, etc) |

So I understand that neither of us are privy to all discussions, so nothing is exact.
But what would you do with this roster, given that we have so little to trade away and only have cap space temporarily? |
