Nothing about this roster makes sense. He traded for Montour who is basically Risto with a better outlet pass, but there's still no plan for who is going to play with Dahlin.

Is Risto there? Montour? Bogo? None of those make sense. The d is completely unbalanced. We don't have a capable defensive defenseman. So someone has to go there.

Up front, it's looking like Erod at 2b center, which is not good enough.

So who/what to trade?

Risto, next year's 1st or any pick, the first the year after that, McCabe, Nylander, Samuelsson, Asplund, idk anything.

Firstly, the premise of the article is "what if the sabres did nothing?" - my commentary is a response to that

Secondly, this is year 3, the term "quick fix" no longer applies. It's now just doing his job

This cuts to the heart of the matter. Why on Earth is this GM getting a 3rd year if we're expecting him to finish bottom-5.

We don't have depth because Murray traded it away. We're worse for the RoR trade now, I get that, but he won big on the Skinner trade so to me it's averaged out.

We don't have a lot of chips to trade with, Botts is short stack. I don't disagree that moves need to be made, but don't want to discount the fact that Botts has one hand tied behind his back either.

Yes I would have taken PK Subban.

He had 10 less points in 15 less games.

He would have made this defense stronger.

We need more 2nd round picks though to keep stocking the cupboards so eventually in 3-5 years they may be good, possibly.
