called the sabres to cancel my seasons yesterday. It was an awkward conversation because they ask why you are canceling after all these years. I explained that I was going to cancel last year until we won the Dhalin lotto, but I needed to see some real progress before I was interested in making that investment again.
I was told that the Blues won the cup after a coaching change...so, you never know.
Yes, it is feeling like this year is all about letting the kids get older and blaming last year's failure on PH. - Angler
I just renewed with it a second thought. If you have good seats, you're going to regret it.
After all these years of suffering, why would you bail when we have John Jack, skins and dahlin.
I blame phail %200. Maybe I'm foolish and. Buying there bs |

Can we stop using Murray as a bench mark?
He was Chia bad.
Just because one gm was the absolute doesn’t mean dealing with futures is going to have the same result - ImThatGuy
Chia made the playoffs with edm, something Botterill hasn't done yet |

Has nothing to do with GMTM. If you trade 4 1sts away, you are giving up a large part of your future potential. That's simply factual I would think. - RhinoFan
they can have girgens, gringo, tage, and pysyk |

I did not expect to bring back larsson, girgens and elie
I expected a d man and or winger going out in a trade and a d man or winger coming back in a trade
if pommer signs, how many open spots do we have on this roster? |

I think we'd be a playoff team for sure. He probably gets 75 points on the second line, and Sheary/Olofsson and Mitts get 20g a peach playing with him - jcragcrumple
I think we're overestimating his impact 100 fold. A 75 pt player doesn't get us to the playoffs last year. We'd still be bottom third in goals for, still have one of the worst defenses in the league and two backup goalies trying to play starter.
Could it happen? Yes. You could also give Lafen to Toronto next off season...not a risk I'm willing to take for any reason. Until they make the playoffs, our own 1st rounders should be kept until TDL to establish value or not traded at all preferably. |

shouldn't you be a cup contender with eichel, skinner, dahlin, marner, casey and reinhart? - homiedclown
You're playing both sides of the court.
I agree with this point of view.
If not now, when are we going to make a huge splash? |

Aho should be the target, he would instantly make us a major threat. One can dream I guess, just don’t see it happening. - Carubba-Kaleta
How does one forward make the Sabres a major threat? Don't we still have the abysmal Risot, Scandella, Bogosian, insert everyone else here. Is Aho JC coming off the cross?
I am trying to understand how one person overhauls the movement towards the goal. Whatever that goal may be. |

the sabres have drafted 2 players in the first round that played in an all star game
jack and vanek
so 1 in 15 years
I would move 4 first round picks to get an all star - homiedclown
Well you forgot Zemgus.... and Didn't Myers in his rookie year? |

how many more wins do we get from december 1st on with marner, point, aho or rant on this roster
my guess is 8 or 9, 2 per month

I'd have to look, but I don't think 9 wins would even get us in. We'd be close, but that's not a SC contender by any means. 9 wins would've put us at 94 points??? Something like that.
Edit: yeah we still miss the playoffs last year with those 9 wins. |

if we give up 4 first round picks, and are still a bottom 8 team, the franchise really needs to move to toronto because all is lost |

since december first, we were the worst team in the league
the team added skinner and montour, and was no better in the last 50 games with dahlin, as they were the season before they got dahlin |

Ryan Murphy didn't receive a qualifying offer from the New Jersey Devils.
Murphy was taken with the 12th overall pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, but he never developed as hoped. He has eight goals and 43 points in 175 career NHL contests. In 2018-19, he only appeared in three NHL games.
Imagine that, 12th overall and he didn't develop, who would have thought. Picks and Prospects, trust the process.................... for 50 years. - SABRES 89
