He is worth finding out
He gets a bigger role in Vegas than he got in Minny and ends up playing almost 4 minutes more a game and getting PP time and he turns into a top 6 forward - Stripes77
To be fair that Vegas season in 17-18 is absolutely full of career years from about everyone |

Vegas must not have thought he was worth that much to get just a prospect who was a 4th rounder w/ production similar to Nylander. |

Vegas is in a position where they have to sell off players
He was a big part of their cup run
He was hurt most of last season |

N. Roy had 36 points in 69 games in the A which puts him roughly comparable to Nylander's 31p in 49. I'd probably have made that trade |

Low risk, high reward.
Could have been our next Skinner or at worst been another Sheary type |

If you could have gotten him for Nylander (I know you love him but he is useless)
He can play 2C or 2LW both a position of need
He showed before his injury that with more ice time and PP time he is a productive player.

Ok. So if it’s a bit of a cap dump what’s his value? He’d be a perfect fit... |

Eh. Definitely not Skinner.
He had two solid wingers in Neal and Perron. (Neal is steadily declining)
I’d have done it but not for Nylander |

I get he’s a solid player but botts is probably just trying to land another skinner type move |

So you want to trade a #7 overall and our “best” RW prospect for a 2.9M rental who is coming off missing an entire season because he had 1 flash in a pan season?
I’m not biting. Just like Miller for a 2020 1st. Nah. |

I didn't mean like Skinner production but more like our Skinner deal from last year
Play him on the wing or center with Mitts and Reinhart and I would say he is a 45-55 point player |

Nylander has bust written all over him
The guy Haula was traded for has similar production in the A and was a 4th round pick
Nylander isn't getting anyone with term left who is going to be a top 6 forward.
I also shown how he wasn't a flash in the pan
He played 4 more minutes per game in Vegas and got PP time
Something he got very little of in Minny
He went from playing 13 mins a night in Minny to 17 in Vegas.

Who the very first person who came on here & ripped Sobatka?
Oh yeah... it was me... like 2minutes after that sh!tty trade
Also... pretty sure no one even wants him on the roster, let alone line2
Just some more ridiculous exaggeration |

Im gonna need someone to post a calendar that highlights the RDD (roster discussion day) when we're allowed to talk about the projected roster for '19-'20 - jcragcrumple
Well it sure it pointless to talk about it NOW
Bc i absolutely guaranteed that EVRY SINGLE TEAM has roster changes between now & opening night
This has been such an idiotic day of crybaby whining bullish!t |

I will rephrase. I’d like Haula for a middle 6 guy but I’m not giving up Nylander, Tage, Asplund, VO, etc. I would have done like CJ Smith. That’s probably better A stats than the Roy they got.

One under the radar name I have a feeling we could end up trading for is Bryan Rust. Heard his name a few times floated around and with Bott's connection with the Pens I would not be surprised to see him here. Very fast and could get around 20 goals a year if he played a little more. |

I think you all are right, and Botterill will make some moves this summer to make it a respectable team come October. But let me run a hypothetical across that doesn't seem crazy to me.
Only minor moves are made this summer: maybe Donskoi and a depth defenseman. Krueger wants to see what he can do with Risto. The team comes out flat, and by mid-november, the team is sunk. Krueger becomes acting GM due to his background in personnel, and Lindy is brought in later, maybe after the season as PoHO - jcragcrumple
That’s quite the string of “ifs”
But yeah...
something along those lines could be possible
Might not be that short of a timeline though |
