He's not a full fledged turd yet.

But he is prairie dogging it right now.

He has a chance at redemption, but he needs to prove it.

He hasn't dominated, and a lot of that is the fault of the team by bringing him the the AHL early. Regardless, he likely has some skills and should be more than a flash in the pan or the pants.

If the same product is marched out onto the ice, even with the development of CM and RD, it's marginal improvement at best. Expecting to be better would be a (frank)ing joke and a slap in the face to not only the fan base but to the team and the owners. Ticket sales would continue to be weak for our market and no one runs a business to intentionally suck at it. At least, not in any normal circumstance.

Changes are coming, outside of one of those sweet Benoit Pouliot moves.

The Islanders were an extremely strong offensive team two years ago, and missed the playoffs. Trotz came in and coached the poop out of them, and they become one of the best defensive teams with a decline in offense due to system and missing JT. But they still made the playoffs.

Even if Ralph has the Trotz effect, our offense is still pathetic. The talent needs to be upped, especially in the bottom 6, and maybe even 9. If Eichel, Skinner and/or Reinhart go missing, there's no scoring. You can't win like that.

The Ducks used to roll like that, this past decade. Got them all the way to no where.

Sobotka gets bashed enough around here, which is well deserved, but one thing that must be done is him not being a full time forward for this team. He's completely destructive to our chances of winning per game.

I'm cautiously optimistic that if Risto starts the season here, he's played correctly. His offense will ultimately decline, hard, if he is not used based on his abilities. He can balance out his lack of top PP time as long as he's started in the ozone 65-35.
