I know he has become a bit of a punch line around here but I still have high hopes for Thompson. It isn't his fault that he has been badly mismanaged by two different organizations. I remember watching the prospect game at this time last year and he (along with Pilut) absolutely dominated the game. The kid has freakish athletic ability - there was no reason he should have been in the NHL so soon.

He's a manufactured goal producer when he is on the #1 line with strong talent and a stud tipper but take him off that #1 line away from Jack and Skinner he might get 8 even strength goals again like the previous year. Not a natural goal scorer. |

kid averaged over 20 goals a season in the 4 years and spent more time off the top line during those 4 years then on the line
I think it's more of him having low numbers due to playing on the worst sabre team in a 4 year stretch, that we have ever seen
get 3 balanced lines and he gets 28 to 30 a year IMO
