I completely disagree.
Well I was a toddler in Hong Kong. Didn't get much hockey out there as far as I recall
Then England.
Then this beautiful country. |

Just a thought.
Willie has an 8,300,000 signing bonus.
After July first there is 5 years left on his contract at an average of 4.9 million a year...
If NSH comes running with Ellis for Willie straight up do we do it?

I agree we dont, but the Habs dont either which makes this all weird. |

We don’t have any guys who can play 6-8 mins on the Marlies?, I would hope we would. - Garnie
Moore.
Bracco? No. It would shock me if the Leafs player him 6-8 mins a game...he’s either on the Marlies again or playing in the top 9. |

Or did signing JT afford the Leafs the ability to shop Matthews to see if they can get one go the best defensemen in the league? - aminnes
Unless there is some known issue with him (or he flat out does NOT want to be here), i think that would be one of the dumbest thig the leafs could do. Over all these years its been the same thing, leafs always trade away picks for help at present day and its always backfired. They never drafted and developed. Think of how many picks that were leaf owned that was traded and that turned out to be somone special?
We've finally been doing the drafting and developing and we scored the first overall pick and when we lost the McDavid lottery we ended up scoring Marner. |

There’s been some rumours on Leafs/NSH.
Willie would help NSH’s 30th place PP.
Nashville saves actual dollars overall.
Leafs lose out on the age factor but it’s the price you pay for a reasonably priced D man.
At this point I highly doubt Z or Willie is traded until July 1st.
Especially Willy no team is paying that 8.3 million when they fully know the Leafs will do it without hesitation. |

Lol.
You don’t know what’s going on in the front office. None of us do.
Are you one of those who are mad at Dubas for not signing Marner yet? So the rest of the league gets a free pass for not signing there’s right? |

Problem is that Nashville has little incentive to trade him now that PK is gone. |

Both teams get helped out here. NSH’s PP is absolutely horrid. Trading Subban just made it worse.
NSH saves a lot of money and the Leafs save some cap room.

True. But they need to improve their forwards and especially the PP.
Ellis is the obvious candidate to bring back something worthwhile.
Josi/Elkholm/Fabbro is still a fantastic D core. Having elite D doesn’t matter to you don’t have forwards to pass to. Plus Poile May want to switch things up a bit and gear then towards offence some more especially with Laviolette. |

I agree 100%. Problem is singing JT means someone has to go, or else have a poop d core. Can't trade JT, and they did;t win while any of the picks were on entry level. So now they have issues. Kadri moves back to his role, gets more ice and bags 25-30. New top D man bags 15-20 and they allow less goals, Reilly even more freed up. I think it makes the team better. 4 players taking up half the cap won't work. |

They may.
And that doesn’t move the needle enough. Nylander/Duchene would turn that right around. Neither of them would make them worse than last year.
I just think Dubas has something up his sleeve. He seems like he’s been talking to every team about defence especially at the draft.
He passed on Miller...probably wants to aim higher than that and may have something already set in stone for July 1st with the signing bonuses. |

Fabbro is a rookie. You take out Ellis and that defense goes from a top top-4, to a crap shoot. They'd have to use Hamhuis and Santini a lot. At some point a PP with Josi/Ellis/Forsberg/Johansen (Duchene)/Arvidsson will do ok. |

No, Im basing it on his inexperience of being a GM and the public approach he puts on when dealing with the players; he seems to take a budy approach with them possible cause of his age. Again speculation on my part I'll admit and truly dont know. As for being mad, no but just sheds the light on Atheletes and their lip service and epescially these melinials now who come off as greedy. I see this also in the normal work force and what they show up epxecting. |

You are stereotyping.
It seems obvious to me. You don’t like having someone so young and successful running a hockey team.
A lot of people are jealous of him...I see it a lot with people I talk to. Making fun of his glasses, his experience....which funny enough he’s had tons of management experience. A lot more than these former players of the game that become managers.
He’s been at it since he was 14.
He’s a pretty impressive individual and I find it ironic the same people hating on him being a new GM hated on Lou and he’s had decades of NHL experience. |

He got the job through nepotism. He quit hockey at 14. Was a stick boy for grandpa. The Soo improved but were never spectacular when he was there. He does;'t have NHL success. On the one hand, let's wait and see before we bash him, on the other let's not anoint him and assume critics of him are simply jealous. |

League minimum for an 8th dude. Not sure why you’re losing sleep over it. Any other 700k guy is just as bad. Devil you know... - drexel
Right now he is not the 8th he is the 5th or 6th and will play every game.
