Sutter was not a UFA.
Beagle at $3smill is fine 3.8% of the cap - Nighthawk
Again though, my complaints arent with the players. It's with their contracts. Sutter has done admirably well when healthy. Beagle has done well as a 4C. LE severely underperformed but we paid him after a contract year so we have no one to blame. I dont blame the players, I just dont like the contracts they are getting. |

This is literally the same as 2016
Vancouver came off a season where they were the 2nd lowest scoring team in the league.
So everyone said we cannot come back with the same offense
so they sign eriksson

I love how the I(I told you so crowd) feels the need to hedge their bets ,without seeing how things might go first |

Would you sign bent burns to a 10 year contract at 30, I think that's what it was. |

its a conversation. Its a difference in opinion and for some reason its getting you guys upset. Again, Classic and I have never said that we dislike the player. Myers + Benn > Gudbranson and Hutton x 100, and its not even close. We are complaining about the contracts, which seems to go over some of your heads over and over again. |

So with only Woo as RHD & Tanev getting older that makes a rebuild go another 5yrs minimum. Doing nothing is ok if the UFA market is crazy or has nothing. Banking on Barrie is risky but could pay big dividends if only we signed him. After that it is watching the years pass by without enough RHD prospect depth & lucking out on drafting them then waiting on them. The years add up fast & current talent gets wasted. - Nighthawk
If they had started rebuilding when they should have, they would already be at that point, so yes, if it takes another 5 years so be it. |

It’s amazing with all the garbage being dumped off by teams, that the Canucks weren’t able to flog a single contract for even a conditional pick. |

I believe it’s the creative side of the brain that makes them do this. Other sports dictates what is more natural & they favour their strong side out of the gate. - Nighthawk
I know lots of guys who shoot left in hockey, but play golf right handed, throw a ball with their right. It’s just weird. |

F’s & D are not nearly the same thing.
Longterm deals depends on the what & who. Signing RHD need is not close to signing F’s on the hope of a fix. |

all in all, we can all differ on how the contract is structured (length/$/clauses/etc). I don't think anyone on here has said they simply dont want myers because he is myers. I think people that have not wanted him, did not want him based off of the speculated contract, which is fair. I think its fair to say that our team is better today than it was yesterday with Myers, but i think either side will argue until they are blue in the face as to how they would ideally like the team's cap spent/used/utilized. |

Benning has had a few wins in the player for picks market, but he pissed them away to try and stay competitive. |
