if myers lives up to this contract and isn't steadily declining in years 3 or 4, I will eat my words and change my avatar to a picture of Myers until his contract is done. If he makes me eat crow, thats a good thing.

Sports is fluid & not so easy to do. History in hockey has obvious patterns but it’s dependent on a GM with an all encompassing vision that usually succeeds.

all in all, we can all differ on how the contract is structured (length/$/clauses/etc). I don't think anyone on here has said they simply dont want myers because he is myers. I think people that have not wanted him, did not want him based off of the speculated contract, which is fair. I think its fair to say that our team is better today than it was yesterday with Myers, but i think either side will argue until they are blue in the face as to how they would ideally like the team's cap spent/used/utilized.

Myers? Decent player, but is he a #1 guy? Sadly, on the Canucks he is, but he shouldn’t be. They should be upgrading on Edler and Tanev, not Pouliot and Biega (I mean upgrade them too, but not as a priority).

like I said before, im not hating on Myers, hes fine. I just dont like how benning structures contracts, especially with UFA's. I won't be complaining if Benning makes me eat my words, again, it would be a good thing. My hope is that i am wrong.

lol this is a whole different argument towards Benning but yes, I agree. Myers is a good 2nd pairing D-man on this team's current Defense, there is no doubt.

That’s what I’m saying. Live with your mistakes, do things properly (yes, I know, there isn’t “one way” to rebuild), and take your time. The result will usually be better.

One of my buds golfs either side. If he sucks he switches up the next round or year he plays. Has both sets of clubs 😂😂

I prefer to see how Hughes takes over & the other D perform. Myers is not a stand alone answer & it’s how all the D play matters.

Agreed but as we get better the pendulum can shift more towards our side. With EP & Hughes we are on the right track. Players gravitate to teams on the rise or contending.
