Van has a different structure than WPG does. I don't know if it helps. Or if Baumgartner can help him either.

I doubt he can be helped at this point.

I think Maurice is falling out of favour in wpg, not sold on baumer.

Can find analysis and logic that makes sense...

According to you people shouldn't have opinions about things they don't have 1st hand knowledge... I'm assuming you don't vote then... Or comment on much of anything.

I'll wait until he plays some games in VAN before I form an opinion.

He had extremely sheltered starts in the peg and was still terrible

Do you have any data to support your claims ?

"When Myers played as a fourth or fifth defenseman, he fared okay. However, when the role elevated, he lacked the ability in his game to step up adequately.

Even in the playoffs against St. Louis with reduced minutes, he performed mostly average at best with zero points in six games. Game 5 showed the only improvement and that was followed by a stinker in Game 6."

"
Lost in this season was the fact that Winnipeg sheltered Myers whenever they could. He was deployed in the offensive zone over 56% of the time. That is a high percentage. Overall, the defenseman wound up with 31 points in 80 games while playing just over 20 minutes a night (22 a game over the second half).

It was during that second half where one could see the holes still prevalent in his game. Myers made too many mistakes defensively. Also, blown opportunities offensively which would have been capitalized on by players like Jacob Trouba, Dustin Byfuglien, or Josh Morrissey."

The guy stinks... He was a 5,6 dman in the peg...

No way, Myers is awesome. I am sad to see him go. He got maligned here in Winnipeg for no reason. The more he plays the better he gets. I am going to miss him.

I hadn't seen this but i'm pretty sure this is exactly what I've been saying

I don't know about "stinks" but as I said he's a fine 3rd pairing D and it's free agency and he's still a capable defencemen. Meaning he isn't going to be in and out of your line up and a player you can only player 13 minutes a night.

He's worth somewhere between 4-5 AAV IMO. Anything else it's because it's free agency and he's a RHD.

I read it. A pretty useless article. He had 56% OZ starts. So (frank)ing what.

I already posted one article

Here's another...
"hurting the future would be adding Myers for seven years in the $50 million range. Similar defensemen, at least statistically speaking, could be found for a fraction of the price."

"Myers may be a serviceable third-pairing defenseman, but $7 million or more for him is top-pairing money that would be better set on fire as it would at least provide some warmth in that dark hour."

He's better in the 4 spot than all of the guys weve had playing there the last 4 years, that's kinda the bottom line for me. Do I think he can do more? no. He's a big improvement on Hutton though, I'll take it. Put him out there with Edler and Hughes with Tanev and all of a sudden we got something going. Stecher will continue to play the tougher dzone starts. Tanev/Edler the bulk of the Pk. Sprinkle in Rafferty, OJ and whoever else makes the cut and we have ourselves a better d corps IMO. more offence, similar level of defensive ability.

I agree. Adding him for 5 years at six is not doing that though.

Ya that’s how I view him. Certainly not top pairing but probably an adequate number 4. It will be interesting how they deploy him. Perhaps with Hughes on the second pair and more favourable zone starts could work

Hearing OTT/TOR are working on a Zaitsev deal. Might not happen for a couple of days, but it’s in the process.

There goes my get out of Myers free card.
