I didn't know that.

it's almost like Bergevin decided to go "fuk you I'm taking your star player" ands then decided to take it easy on them at the last minute, that's a weak ass offer sheet for a player like Aho.
- Nucker101

TSN guys seem to say that if offer sheets don't go through, its hard to make deals with that specific GM afterwards, and GM Holmgrem admitted that after the Shea Weber offer sheet fell through, other GM's were reluctant to even pick up the phone with him. Wonder if that's still the case or if these guys are just trying to amp up this move.

I expect the Canes will match easily, but now they can screw over Montreal by waiting the full week

Probably explains why you aren't optimistic on them being able to score more and give up less.

So you are comparing the canucks sucking in 14/15-15/16 and dropping off a cliff to them having the same turn around but getting better.

for as manly as this sport is, this league is soft as hell. NBA and NFL execs are way more ruthless than these emotionally soft old dudes.

GM Waddel: "We will review the offersheet, but to be honest with you guys, I am surprised it wasn't for more"

Waddell on offer sheet: "It's certainly a surprise, it's a surprise it wasn't more. Literally we got the email at 2:40 today so all people are not fully aware yet."

To be honest, I expected more outrage today.

Have we all grown numb to the dumb?

Bergevin is so bad he can't even offer sheet properly lol

So he risked being blacklisted by some of the sensitive GM's around the league for absolutely nothing.

we have less "blind hate" and more "conversations or debates with reason and fact" which generally lead to more civil discussion. The posters who spew the same blind hate without reason for specific management or players without reason generally cause a bit of a stir up, but posters are getting much better about backing up their stance with substance.

Like Vantel said.

The defense just got bigger, more physical and better offensively. Miller added up front. More growth from the youth on the roster.

Even if you don’t like the deals, these are clear upgrades.

- Nucker101

Definitely. Myers seems durable as well. That is important with Tanev and Edler going to sit out for a combined 50 games.

I don't mind if they match. I like the commitment they finally need to make . Drive up their cap hit a bit.

Classic forgets how many one goal games there was last year.

Canucks lost 24 games last year by one goal.

This is the biggest reason I laugh my ass off at the narrative that the games lost to injury made no difference in the standings.

a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Sebastian Aho is a small price to pay. I think it gets matched anyway.

That contract also forces them into not buying a single year of free agency. He's gonna cost them a lot in 5 years

Canucks got better on paper today. Now it's time for the players to put in the work to get better on the ice. BOOM

True, that's probably how Aho and his agent are approaching this.
