we have less "blind hate" and more "conversations or debates with reason and fact" which generally lead to more civil discussion. The posters who spew the same blind hate without reason for specific management or players without reason generally cause a bit of a stir up, but posters are getting much better about backing up their stance with substance. - Codes1087
Oh.
Where’s the fun in that? You make it sound like we are participating in a Ted Talk. |

Sounds like Benning wants to play Myers with Edler. Further evidence that they're holding on to Tanev so he can play with Hughes |

Now onto Connor...
How much to OS him & the details? |

a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Sebastian Aho is a small price to pay. I think it gets matched anyway. - Codes1087
Don’t see how it wouldn’t be matched. If they were offered a 1st, 2nd & 3rd in a trade package for Aho, they’d decline. It’s really just the bonus $ heartburn they need to figure out...

And that is fine . That leaves them with 13 mil to sign 7 more players. They took on a bad contract or two and wasted good money . Now teams will need to find another team to dump their bad contracts on and stop gift wrapping a team that doesn't give a sh1t all these gifts |

Canucks got better on paper today. Now it's time for the players to put in the work to get better on the ice. BOOM - manvanfan
Myers adds a shot from the point, haven't had since Salo
Hughes as the puck moving from the back end this team hasn't had in forever, maybe Ehrhoff.
Miller adds a power winger with size/skill that can shoot and pass, something this team hans't had in forever.
Benn adds 3rd pairing stability and sandpaper without sacrificing ability to actually play, something we thought we were getting with Gudbranson
The holes are being filled. |

Stecher finally gets a full time competent partner in Benn too.
Green must be thrilled to finally have 3 reliable pairings that he can trust. |

Tanev is a more steady stay at home D.
Myers with Edler lets him skate more. |

Edler can go back to focusing on playing defense first now, which is his strength nowadays. Myers can go back to playing aggressive offensively knowing that he has Edler with him. Both bring size and strength too. |

This is a big (frank)ing deal IMO. Putting Hughes in the best possible position to succeed might be the most worthwhile thing that comes out of the 2019/20 season for our future. Now TG/Benning please figure out which LW puts Pettersson in the best possible position to maximize his sophomore season & take that next step towards future Hart consideration. Putting him with guys like Leivo again is infuriatingly counterproductive. |

I think JB realized early that no prospect was going to be ready to improve the team this season.

The pairings are well designed to allow every one of them to play to their strengths. Well done JB 👏 |

This should give Hughes a good 30-33 games to learn all of Tanevs moves . |
