Sure, but the $56M is guaranteed. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Players are risk averse. Why would you bet $20M that you'd be worth what you'd lose and then some in 3 years when you'll be at an age where players are usually out of the league all together and declining sharply if they are still in the league? - Wetbandit1
So Duchene is gonna decline sharply in 3 years but we are hoping skinner in 4 years is still gonna be good. |

So....in all honesty, who are our real chances at tomorrow for FA or via trade? - Watchtower62
I think a trade of risto and/or McCabe are good, it’s quite possible a trade is in place but waiting on pieces to fall into place in UFA. As for UFA, I think the chance of one of the bigger names coming to Buffalo is slim. We’re not in a position to contend right now so we’re not going after a big name to push us over the top nor are they probably interested in coming in here. Based on HMJB’s interview he does seem confident in improving our depth and every time he’s acted like this before he did something. So I do expect a candidate for 2c and top 6 RW to be acquired via trade or UFA, one or two other bottom 6 wingers and a few players for Rochester, including a goalie. This won’t all happen tomorrow but will throughout the summer |

While we're waiting for poopty season, anyone wanna play Yukon Trail with me?
It's a game about heading through northwest Canada to find the best hockey prospects in the Yukon. Problem is, once you arrive, all that exists are lanky, unskilled no talent ass clowns that shouldn't ever be (frank)ing drafted because their name isn't Cole (frank)ing Caufield. - TheSabresTaco
This is gold.

Why don't we just all hope they start winning, for cripes sakes.

Well, I found a no good Tyler Dubinsky, but on my way back I stumbled upon some gold nuggets. Tried to buy a Caufield but those pesky Canadiens ain't selling! |

True, can’t argue this. Still I just don’t believe 3x12 was offered - makes no sense on any level |

Duchene and Skinner should not be mentioned in the same sentence. Skinner is elite. Duchene is not. |

Why would I care if Vegas won the cup?
We would have picked 17 if Dallas scored in OT - jcragcrumple
BUT if we would have picked 17 we would have all been really pissed that Caufield and Newhook went 15, 16. I like Johnson at 31 |

I'd take Heinola at 17 rather than Johnson at 31. But, I'm happy with Johnson. Think his development curve is longer, though. |

I wouldn't take Thomas Harley because he's from the CHL and someone specific from the org told me we can only draft at most 1 per year from there. |

Skinner and Duchene are in the same tiers of their respective positions. I take the Centre over the winger, especially for $1M less per season. |

I would have taken Krebs, loading up on centers is never a bad idea. Plus, chances are one or both of cousins and Krebs ends up on the wing anyway. Cousins and Krebs would have been pretty amazing (Achilles and all) |
