I still have a feeling Kreider is going to SJ, with Georgy. Just a hunch - Slimtj100
Do you think getting rid of Kane helps them? Kreider Georgie+ for Kane? Takes 7 million off their books. Not sure Kane would be the best influence on some of the young guys but would definitely add some skill to the lineup. |

Vegas is still currently OVER the cap. In addition to Gusev, they still need to sign a back-up goalie and they only have 5 defenseman on their roster.
They have to make other moves. Hopefully, one of those will be Gusev to Rangers. - TommyGTrain
Could move Reaves with a pick to free up $2.775 mil of room |

You would rather have Kane at $7 mil for six more years than Kreider for likely a bit less than that? |

If we don’t add Panarin we’ll have the cap space to take on a bad contract. Give me the last year of Clarkson at 5+million for a nice pick or prospect. |

That could be an option. |

That allows them to keep guys they want and gives them bigger cap relief than getting rid of multiple smaller deals. Only 1 year left for Clarkson also so we don’t have to worry about signing someone next year or making a trade next year. |

Brian Hedger:
Rangers and Islanders still appear to be the front-runners for Panarin, from what I'm told, despite the massive late end-run offer by #CBJ .. |

If we resigned Kreider at 7, Trouba at 7.5, would we be able to take on Clarkson? I guess it depends on ADA/Buch/Lemieux? |

If it’s 12+ I think we’re better off staying away from him. |

Capfriendly has us at 18 million, trade Nam and Vesey that’s a little over 24 million.
Trouba 7.5 Clarkson 5. That gives us 12 million for our RFA’s. |

They were saying Clarkson won’t waive clauses to go to a taxed state. Why would he? He’s not gonna play anyway, and his pay is partially tax free. It’s a good idea but it ain’t happening. They can’t move Clarkson |

Didn’t know that, that’s hysterical though. I’m making 5+ million for free, but I refuse to take 4.75 for free haha. What a greedy (frank) |

I think that rumor was BS. If he wanted to resign there he would’ve gotten something done by now. |

I find it very hard to believe they aren't going to make a move the whole summer if they lose out on Panarin today

They might, maybe a package for a player like Meier, maybe something smaller like a Spooner for Strome deal. We’ll find out soon. They’ve already made a few trades though and think they’ve done a pretty good job addressing our biggest weakness last year by adding Fox and Trouba. If we’re not signing Panarin and don’t need the cap space, I think taking on a bad contract could be a good move. |

Do we have room to take on a bad contract if we don’t sign Panarin and just extend our RFAs? |

If we lose out on Panarin, let's push hard to trade for RNH. Still think 2C is a big hole on this team, and without Panarin we are probably better served having Chytil as a wing anyway. |

Ya if we trade Nam and Vesey. Or get rid of Shattenkrik or Smith. I think we still have room, we have 18 million to sign Trouba ADA Buch and Lemieux. Let’s say Trouba 8 (high end) that leaves us 10 million for the other 3, whoever we trade just add their salary to the 10 million. |

At some point, if we are contenders someone is going to want big bucks. Unless he majorly breaks out, I'm not sure he will eclipse the Hayes contract. |

He will get 8+, he’s a good 2C but I’d rather wait and see what we have in Chytil Andersson Howden and Barron. |
