I think he is 🤷🏻♂️
Duchene is a steal. Hayes is fair imo
Meier is the steal of the day so far, by a mile - Slimtj100
I think I might have preferred Duchene over Panarin given the contract Nashville gave him. |

Kredier signing and they somehow manage to trade Smith and Namestnikov without retaining money. |

Hayes is pushing it but it's not an INSANE over payment. - JRR1285
1M and 2 years imo... But INSANE? no
and I'd say the same for a Kreider deal: 5x 6M is what he's worth. Would a 7x7 deal be INSANE? no |

Kind of crazy Florida is paying a goalie 10 million a year for 7 years when they just drafted a goalie 13th overall this year |

It’s actually mind boggling to me they completely wasted a great pick in a great draft. I could see giving Bob 4 years max after that pick, but 7!?!?!? Good god I’d be flipping if the Rangers did taht
If they gave him no clauses it makes a lot better |

2 1sts, 2nd rounder, and a 3rd plus 8.45 cap hit is pretty high for Aho |

First 5 years NMC. I got nothing now. I thought for a second it was a bait and switch, where they didn't really intend to have him more than a few. Nope, he's there long term. |

and of course the rule that makes 99% of the offer sheets not to happen:
"The AAV for an offer sheet, which determines the compensation required, is derived by dividing the total contract value amount by the lesser of:
number of years offered, or
five (5) years" |

Breakdown of Aho offer sheet: $11.3M SB plus 700k salary in Year 1; $9.87M SB plus 700k salary in Year 2; $6.95 SB plus 750k salary in Year 3; $5.25 SB plus $750k in each of Year 4 and Year 5 |

They went to the very upper limit of the 1/2/3 compensation. If they offered $5,000 more per year they'd owe an extra first. This is an easy match for Carolina |

Read the previous comment about all the SBs, salary is only 750k, everything else is signing bonus so that's a tough match |

Yep you are correct. I was typing my reply when Jan posted that. From a cap perspective this is an easy match but this is a case of a big market team trying to take advantage of a small market team from a cash perspective. Actually a good play by Montreal. Will be interesting to see how this pans out. I'm pretty sure the new ownership should be able to handle this though |

New York Rangers President John Davidson announced today that the team has agreed to terms with free agent forwards Greg McKegg and Danny O’Regan
Depth for Hartford.. |

If Carolina hadn't been shortsighted initially, this wouldn't have happened. |
