There us no way he is slightly worse than marincin. - mykokes
Marincin's not even an NHL defenseman at this point. Ceci's at least that.
It's hard to evaluate guys like him because playing on the first pairing on a terrible team is murder on D stats.
I do think he's a bit of a dolt though, hockey sense wise. Not sure you can fix that with a change of scenery. |

Or maybe 700 k like Spezza.
He can be 6th defenceman or worst case they drop him if he sucks. |

He was our 11th best scorer last year - even lower in PPG.
He had less points than Marleau.
Nice guy. Thanks for your efforts as a Leaf. We wish you all the best.
And I have already forgotten about him. - Atomic Wedgie
This.
I liked Brown when he scored 20 a few years ago. Looked like he was going to be in the top six for a long time. But he was invisible all year. He never has the puck anymore, just chases for a minute then changes.
Wish him the best, but 2018/2019 Brown is nothing to be missed.

Left shot. I'd rather we signed Gerardi if we're dipping into the dinosaur bin. |

If he was top 9 F and TOI 12-15, he'd be a 20 goal scorer making 2.1M. |

Heres my take on the Zaitsev trade IMO. Hope this makes sense. Zaitsev and Ceci are about the same so that part equals out. Brown for Harpur, over paid fourth liner for 6-7 Dman which equals out. Carcone for luchuk equals out. Then there's the 3rd rounder. So when it comes down to it, the Sens paid the Leafs a 3rd to make Zaitsev's contract go away not the other way around. Something's wrong with this picture. Hidden aspect of it all, Dubas did a sneaky good job with this one if ya really think about it. |

I agree. Played on a really sh!t team, with horrible goaltending. A 15th overall pick with some skill - on the soft side for a guy that's 6'2". According to Elite Prospects:
A two-way defenseman that stands out offensively. Very good hockey sense and has overall impressive offensive abilities. Above average in areas such as puck handling, skating, passing and shooting. Could play a better physical game. (EP 2012)
Sounds like Gardiner lite. |

Ceci is as dumb as Gardiner in his own zone, with lackluster skating and nothing but a good shot when he's standing still. |

more like Gardiner lite lite lite
you'll love the puckwatching by Ceci.
you'll love how he is constantly out of position.
you'll love the panicking while pressured a bit.
Ceci is really really really bad.
it's a substantial downgrade compared to Zaitsev. |
