they have verbally agreed to a 1yr 4.5 mil.

I see. Well, hopefully he somehow looks better on the Leafs. And at least it's only 1 year.

If Gards signs and the Leafs ship Kadri/Muzzin together for a RHD are we happy?
- Santo_44

I wouldn’t be. I like Kadri and Muzz.

The left side isn't truly outstanding either

In all honesty we're probably looking like

Rielly
Muzzin Ceci
Dermott Liljegren

Still not great. Why are we so against RHD?

- walshyleafsfan

Rielly, Muzzin, Dermott? That’s a very good left side. A 1st pairing a 2nd pairing and a 3rd pairing D with the upside of 2nd this year.

Watching all this poop on Panarin and I realize Marner is on a similar level and if Chicago can trade Panarin and move on then the Leafs can do the same if it comes down to that.
- Aaron_85

Did Chicago win a cup after moving on from panarin?

i tried. i can't do simple math anymore.

(frank) capfiendly for taking down their gm mode for today.

- Tumbleweed

Law > CF

You're covered.

If it's currently ...

Kap-Mat-Nyl
Hym-Tav-Mar
Joh-Kad-Spe
Moo-Goat-Ago
+Pet

Rie XXX
Muz Cec
Ros Derm (Ahler slides in while Dermott recovers)
+Holl

Plus goalies and Kessel's hit ....then Leafs have about 12 million to spend on Marner and that partner for Rielly.

With Panarin off the board, NYI, Habs and Columbus will all be going hard after Lee. After that they will be calling on Dubas and Cheveldayoff. The price for a scoring forward just went up.

Yeah I was just kidding

I do think our left side is fine.

Our right side is pointless.

Yeah, once Marner is signed, and assuming we qualify Ceci, we're still strapped. I guess we'll have to see if Dubas has any other moves in him.
- Thecakeisalie

But but but the leafs arent in cap hell.

Dreger has spoken 3 times on the TSN panel today. So far, all 3 times have been about Marner and offer sheet.

What numbers do you guys expect for Wayne Simmonds? Always wanted to see that player on the Leafs, but more likely than not he will be too expensive.

Agree, but Zaitsev will blow for 5 years, while Ceci will cost for one year. If Bruins can manage a team with $6 million for Backes, I'm sure one $4.5 bad deal will not be the end of the world.

Oh totally. It was good to get rid of Zaitsev's contract. The original comment was about if Ceci could turn himself around on his 1 yr contract with the Leafs and I was simply saying I doubt it. It's not a deal you love to see as a fan, but ridding yourself of Zaitsev's term is worth it. I think it will hurt the Leafs this year, though.

I mathed the poop out of their cap this morning.

Surprised Ferland hasn't signed yet even with prior concussion issues. If he's cleared his head would be better option at this point. Might be too expensive for Leafs though.

If it includes a large signing bonus we can dump him whenever we want to a cash strapped team.

Good move.
