JT's arrival made Kadri pedestrian though. Kadri at 2C makes up 15 goals right there. If the d man coming back is a stud he's making up at least another 15 goals, probably 45-65 points. Not as big a loss as people think. The key would be finding a decent 3rd line centre. But that shouldn't be too hard.

I agree on Nylander though. He's probably getting them a pretty meh d man back.

Personally, I don't mind seeing what ceci can do with this forward group. His numbers look better than zaitsevs to me.

I would love nothing more than Ceci to be even mediocre and be able to play in our top 4. But he is absolutely horrendous. You should see some of the montages on YouTube. poop Gardiner and Zaitsev would only dream of.

Debatable. He is good though. IMO Marner's ceiling is the best producing winger in the NHL. Jones is maybe a top 15 defensemen.

I've heard the same thing about numerous young d we have let go only to see them do well elsewhere. To me, he was simply overused in ottawa. He's the same age as Reilly. Do I think he's the answer, (frank) no. But he doesn't need to be.

They have decided to play olden timey barn burner defensive free hockey next season. They have been mandated to increase the average goals per game number. I'm thinking scores like they had in the late 1800s.

Jones is a top 5 NHL DMan. Imo. You guys can put Doughty or Karlsson ahead, Jones was better last year and has an excellent contrcat and has not hit his prime yet.

I've argued against this win now notion, as have others, for a while now.

You don't get grossly mismanaged for 15 years, draft a couple of high end players then automatically enter a win now phase. It'll be a few more years. After this summer, that date could possibly have been pushed back further.

This Zaitsev was terrible with Gardner but I thought was good in the playoff s with Muzzin...All he needs to be is passable as a 4-6 guy.
