They traded him because he wasn’t getting the minutes he deserved. Col needed a 2C, Leafs needed a RHD.

I’m the biggest Naz supporter, but this trade makes sense for both teams, Leafs would have loved to keep him.

Yes. Matthews needs more TOI bad. He's been the best NHL scorer 5 on 5 since he entered the NHL but doesn't crack top 80 in TOI.

I also think Dermott was held back too much in his 2nd season.
