If Nylander's value was rebuilt, maybe they could.
I don't dislike him, he just gets the team more in return if they rebuild his value.
What's the rush?
It's either walk or overpay. Neither is good. - JohnFergusonJr
I think you're just incapable of recognizing a good situation. Seriously, what would possibly make you happy? We need to somehow find a top 4 RHD signed on a cheap contract for several years, and then magically convince the gm of his team to trade him to us without selling the farm for them? Oh, while also convincing them to throw in a replacement for whoever we send to them?
If we'd somehow traded Kadri straight up for Dahlin from Buffalo you'd no doubt be complaining about how we'd lost our center depth, that Dahlin wasn't experienced enough, and that's he'd need a huge payday when he came off his ELC. |

Hard to say. Depends on the situation on the other team. We've seen cap dumps and trades that seem very lopsided over the last while, but they were necessary for various reasons. All I know is if they traded Kadri for Barrie, and that's it, and that's what they think a championship team looks like defensively, then why would you even bother trading Kadri? |

Probably has a pencil neck that can be snapped with two fingers. But pretty good player none the less.
If we want to insert someone tough on the back end, we could always play Ben Harpur. He's 6 foot 6 with a supposed mean streak. Although I've been told he's not very good. So I dunno if he'll get playing time on the Leafs or how often or what. |

TSN guys don't understand that Aho is signing the offersheet because:
1/ Carolina org was being cheap with him (probably offering around 7mln for a 7-8 year deal)
2/ Montreal is a great organization to play for (Aho has Kotkaniemi fellow Fin there).
the Aho situation is nothing compared to Marner / Point / Tkachuk / Laine - and will not influence these contract that much as TSN guys pretend. |

Well, considering Barrie is already tweeting about what a great fit this is for him, perhaps he will want to re-sign here. We'll have Ceci off the books after next season unless he plays amazeballs and we re-up his contract, so there's 4.5m to help re-sign Barrie.
I think we'll be able to easily re-sign either Barrie or Muzzin, but I don't know if we can keep both. Although I think Muzzin will be 31 at that point, so unless it was a short deal, it'd be a bit risky to give him a big contract anyways, where as Barrie is I think 3 years younger? - Thecakeisalie
Cap should go up.
Ceci’s contract comes off the books.
Dermott, Barrie, Muzz to resign.
2/3 will be easy.
If Dermott has a monster year it’ll be tougher but if Dermott has a monster year that eliminates the problem anyways |

Georgiev might be available. Gonna cost ~ a 2nd and a prospect, but he was VERY good last season. |

I know - with Shestyorkin coming over, Georgiev might be the odd man out.
A 3rd + Bracco for Georgiev would be a good deal for Leafs.
