Luckily, I don't watch Avalanche games, so I don't actually have an opinion on Barrie yet.

Anybody catch Dubas on TSN this evening? Ceci's going to arbitration, so it's not a guaranteed 4.5M like reported.
I do think he's going to play this year and will be interesting to see how he does playing with Rielly (Dubas talked about Muzzin and Barrie playing together at the Worlds) who's obviously an upgrade to everyone then Sens have outside of Chabot. - gravyface
Ceci going to arbitration is actually perfect. Leafs can walk away if they don't like it and maybe sign gardiner for a little more.

That'll be Paul Dreger after the Leafs re-sign Marner. He will literally have nothing to talk about. |

LOL
seriously read what you are typing You are riunning in circles here.
Do you understand what plus minus means?
Doughty is arguably the best D in the league an he was a -34 last season. Why? Because his team gets scored on a lot more than it scores.
Go check the AVS Team plus minus the last 10 seasons. I will gladly add it uo for you it wont be pretty.
You are a joke - Santo_44
Doughty played like poop last year. Can't blame him, what was there for motivation? But even then, even after a garbage year, he's still plus 59 for his career.
Dude. Your in love with the Leafs, Barrie, according to you is a top pairing d man. Nothing matters accept how great this trade was and how mazing Barrie is. Okay.
Then next year, like Nylander and other guys you got behind, we will see what actually happens. But sure you win. Plus minus means nothing and Barrie is a superstar. |

I find it bizarre that fans boo him.
He didn't bring in the instigator rule (99% of pro-fight fans believe he did).
Yes, he's overseen multiple lockouts - but that's on the owners.
He's increased the geographic scope of the league.
Hockey in the US (particularly participation) is off the charts.
His initiative saved Ottawa, Calgary and Edmonton from moving to the US.
He brought cost certainty.
Yeah, Florida and Arizona play to empty arenas, but why the frank do I care? Hell, it just means I can go see an NHL game on the cheap if I vacation there. It doesn't affect me at all. - Atomic Wedgie
I've never understood it either. I think most do it just because it's the thing to do if you're a hockey fan. You're supposed to hate Bettman lol.
I remember reading some interview he did like, I dunno, close to a decade ago. I don't really even remember much of the details, just that he seemed like a smart guy that honestly wanted to grow the game and didn't care if the fans hated him, as long as he was successful at his goals. I gained a fair bit of respect for him then.

116 points over the past 2 years for a D man. Pretty good. And he’s a Leaf. |

You’ve been talking in circles the past hour about plus minus.
I’ve been proving you wrong. You say one thing then I prove it wrong then you come up with some other excuse.
You are spewing bull poop. Everyone on here has been calling you out on it and you continue to do so.
Know when you are wrong and except it. You have a problem with this. And getting angry at me calling me a leaf lover isn’t helping your case.

But plus minus.
Oh but plus minus doesn’t count when Polak played on a bad leaf team.
But it does count for Barrie when he was on a bad Avs team.
Doughty played bad last season and that’s why he had a -32 compared to his usual +20. Not because it was the first time he’s played on a bad team since his early years. |

Like I said, I like the trade on principle. They just need to do more to shore up their own end. Replacing Gardiner with a more offensive Gardiner isn't going to cut it when it matters.

Dubas has done a very good job this off season. I'm impressed. I think the Leafs could use some more grit and snarl to compliment their stars but that can be addressed before the trade deadline. Once Marner is finally signed all the heavy lifting will be done. |

Your crying that I called you a Leaf lover. Meanwhile I have been called a bunch of names from the Leaf wives in there last few pages. God forbid anyone question the Leafs brass. Remember everyone, +- means absolutely nothing, and Barrie is a superstar. |

"Stay at home" is code for poopty dman who can't move the puck and gets stuck in his own zone. Usually terrible defensively but dimwits think he's good defensively. - Burn

That'd be nice.
Based on what we have seen over the past week or so, no one knows what dubas can do. Nothing would shock me. |
