At this rate, they may be more afraid of Montreal if they get Duchene or Aho. |

Is he really better than Ennis at this point?
It's close - jcragcrumple
I don't know, but the difference between the two of them is nowhere near enough to make a big difference in the win column. |

probably got that idea from wgr - Michael Pachla
I must be behind the times, but Jeremy is becoming more unlistenable by the day. The afternoon show is pure trash. It's better when Bulldog is there without Schopp, but.. for (frank) sakes, if you ever find yourself listening, take note of all the non-buffalo sports poop they talk about. All their poopty drafts. All their poopty bantering about (frank)all. It's insufferable.
I'm also getting tired of the super analytical wannabes on twitter. They see one chart that shows a player is 'good' and they fix unto it log a rabid dog to meat or a gerbe to caufield. Like, no context whatsoever, this chart shows he's good which means Botts is an idiot if he doesn't acquire him. No context, no knowledge, just, this bar is blue so he's an elite defenseman.
(frank) the (frank) off.
I like listening to River and Petey and Tasker and Murph. They might say some dumb poop sometimes, but they stay on topic, their discussion is almost always team Buffalo team specific, and they almost always find interesting poop to at least banter about.
I'm done shaking my (frank)ing fist. |

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Gerbe overstates it a bit, but there are more teams that make mistakes with signings on July 1 than ones that don't. |

His and Schopp's soapbox rants about how "dumb" GM's are for not using offer sheets are tiresome. They conveniently miss the fact that, in order to be successful on an offersheet, you not only need to give up major compensation (let's use the four firsts for a Point or Marner as an example), but you also have to offer them more than they're worth. Otherwise, the team with his rights are going to match. You need to offer enough to make it hurt. And if it hurts them, it hurts you.
I remember Schopp had someone on his radio show (I think it was Kevin Allen of USA Today, but I could be wrong), and he succinctly made this very point. Schopp just glossed over it.

I spent a little time calling him out on that yesterday. Kevin's a guy who thinks he knows more about analytics than he actually does. However, to provide context, that discussion is about either having control over a cost controlled bottom 6 RFA over a 1 year UFA winger who, he believes, we wouldn't re-sign. |

Some of these contracts are ridiculous, while others we can’t control.
Panarin - ridiculous
Duchene - wanted to sign in Nashville no matter what.
I rather botts be patient and make good signings.
Or even a trade works too. A good 2C for the “old” contracts that aren’t paying insane money. I think that would be a huge win. |

The most ridiculous thing about that argument is that it isn't even close to an "either/or" scenario. |

"Well, I still think there should be offer sheets, these gentlemen's agreements need to go"
Yeah this is a convenient point that is never, ever brought up by the both of them. If an offer sheet is successful, you vastly overpaid/for the asset. |

If not, brush it off as it has nothing to do with who is on the Sabres. |
