Pretty funny to see where this guy penciled in Vesey. Personally i am OK with the moves that Botts has done so far. He hasn't done anything stupid like the other GM's during the frenzy. As others on this site mention, I think he is being prudent. He will be able to swoop in and make his trades or bargain UFA signings after the insanity ends.

I also like the fact we have all of these UFA's/RFA's heading into this season. One of two scenarios will likely happen: 1) these UFA's will have "career years" which will help drive the team towards the playoffs and/or result in good trade bait at the deadline, 2) they will all stink but they will all be coming off the books at the end of the year. Next year will be the year we move into "go for it" mode.

I also think Risto and/or McCabe is gone and they will net us either a 2C or a Top 6 RW. Still lots of time before October. Let's see how all of this shakes out before we cast our final judgement on the roster - today.
