So you don’t want the stop gap 2-3 year vet center. Can 2c this year, split 2/3 with mits next year and ride off into the sunset when Couzens and Mitts take over.

A guy 24-26 is another core piece. I guess you’d be moving one of the 3 (new guy, couzens, mitts) to wing ?

Right now the plan is that Erod plays the heavy defensive minutes at 2b center, probably with Vesey and maybe Okposo.

Mitts gets sheltered o zone minutes with Olofsson and (suddenly) RW Sheary.

The Erod line gets 17 minutes, the mitts line 15

Well, I’m pretty pumped we didn’t do anything stupid. I’m equally stoked for Vesey especially giving up a future Kevin Sundher or Justin Kea for him. Tactical moves, with room for Vic & Nylander to play some important minutes, and play with our better players. Vesey is really intriguing, so is the idea of Risto on the 2nd pair if that’s what happens.

July 1st is no way to build your roster...it’s fun, for like, the summer..then you spend the next 4 years trying to figure out how to get rid of the contract(s) you gave out today.

Also, I really admire Botts’ patience today, and I bet the ask for Vesey was more substantial on Draft weekend..maybe a prospect, maybe a 2nd? Definitely something better than the 3rd. He held tough though, and with a frustrated fanbase nipping at his loafers..he played it real cool. Anyways, really pleased with the subtle moves. I like building without getting worse to do it. He preyed on 2 teams who had to make moves, and he had picks ready to deal. I would not be surprised if you saw one of our D traded out for a pick or two..not Risto..that would cost something cool..like Kyle Connor. That would actually be really cool. Not likely, but Botterill isn’t desperate at all here, and if you want Risto, you’re going to pay, or he’s not moving. Sorry for the giant paragraphs..go Sabes!!
